48,000 gns, son of Pivotal, sixth of 10 on debut needs to be bettered but possible this is easier and now has the benefit of experience to draw from. Yard still flying, so interesting if well supported.
Cheap purchase, his dam was a maiden between 1m2f and 2m. Others look more appealing for sprinting at this early stage.
Eighth of eleven on debut over C&D last month created the impression he will need more time. Yard respected but this fellow is more likely to be better off in handicaps, possibly when upped in trip.
Dam is a half-sister to useful sprinter Jack Dexter but this inmate of Jim Goldie's is proving to be much less precocious. Better effort in cheekpieces (dispensed with today) at Hamilton latest. But not certain to confirm the form with Crown Of Cortez, who was very green on the day and will be tougher to deal with this time around.
Dam was out of a 5f winner as a 2-y-o and seems to have inherited a bit of speed as a result. Better effort last time at Chelmsford and had previously handled turf well in finishing third of eight at Nottingham in April. This lacks strength-in-depth, so makes the shortlist as one to bear in mind if backed.
Cost £115,000 as a 2-y-o and is related to a handful of useful performers. Yard and jockey in form in unison and this son of Loupe De Vega won't need to be anything too special to master this lot and get off the mark at the first time of asking.
Price boosted to £36,000 as a yearling, he has experience of the C&D and, after an improved effort at Newcastle last week, he is going the right way. Needs to continue progressing but no forlorn hope for a place in the frame.
Yard had a very busy weekend and this an interesting contender to be introduced at this stage. Jockey bookings suggest he is the stable's second string but still worth a betting check nonetheless.
Cost £55,000 and is related to useful performers such as World's Oyster - a winner over 6f as a juvenile. Debut effort reads well in the context of this race and appeals as one of the more likely contenders.

Forecasts
Safrani (7/2), Crown Of Cortez (7/2), Weellan (4/1), Poignant (4/1), Tommy Shelby (14/1), David Fallow (14/1), Jackontherocks (18/1), Sam James (18/1), Lord Of The Glen (22/1), Here In The Dark (40/1)
As usual, the betting will be informative, as the likes of Weellan, Crown Of Cortez and Poignant are all open to improvement and worth a check in the betting. However, SAFRANI looks the part on paper and may have enough class to see hi through in his bid to justify his £115,000 price tag.

- Weellan
