Probably didn't improve for his Limerick debut when seventh of eleven to Golden Dandy at Killarney last month. Both of those starts came over 1m and takes a noticeable drop back in trip with blinkers now applied.
Nine previous attempts to shed the maiden status, but in truth hasn't managed to beat too many home in eight of those races. Finished last of 16 over 6F at Cork latest and drops to an all time shortest trip (5F) with cheek-pieces added to the tongue tie.
Appeared to have regressed since a couple of reasonable efforts as a juvenile last back-end. However, the hood had a positive effect at Fairyhouse on his seasonal reappearance (fifth), and is coupled with blinkers for the first time.
Yet to finish out of the frame in six outings since a low key debut at Naas in July 2016. However, has been a beaten favourite on his last four starts, with a couple of those runs coming on the AW at Dundalk. Should handle prevailing ground conditions.
Cost 30,000 gns as a yearling, and is a half-brother to winning miler Path Of Silver. Shaped well enough on debut at Navan last month (6f good to firm) when a never nearer sixth of 17 to Dierama. Ideally needs further but this softer ground might help.
Henrythenavigator filly who has raced five times so far, with her best effort coming on seasonal reappearance at Naas in April when 3L second to easy winner Sorelle Delle Rose (6F yielding). Solid enough, but others slightly less exposed.
Unraced Iffraaj filly who was a relatively inexpensive purchase (€3,000 yearling). Half-sister to a 7F juvenile winner Raphael Santi, but likely to have to settle for a midfield finish at best on debut.
Beaten a long way when last of 14 on debut at Dundalk in February (6F). Difficult to imagine she's able to be competitive here on her turf debut.
Sound effort behind A Little Bit Me at Cork latest and may be revved up by the first-time cheek-pieces. Yard respected, but unlikely to be good enough in this company and more exposed than many other runners.
Didn't appear suited by the step upto 7F at Naas last month when weakening out of contention inside the final furlong to finish ninth of 16 to Constant Comment (better than bare result). Could be suited by this minimum trip on soft ground, and no surprise to see this €75,000 yearling do better. Wears a hood (first time).
Fairly consistent in seven starts so far, but equally has had plenty of goes at breaking the maiden tag as a juvenile. 5F is probably her trip, but there is a risk that she might need this having not raced since October 2016.
Posted a couple of decent efforts so far, and improved on her second start to get closest to Dierama at Navan last month over 6F (good to firm). Fairly closely matched with Silverkode (sixth) on that effort, but like that rival a drop to this trip doesn't appear ideal.
Not too much to draw from her three starts to date with predominately rear division finishes. Improved a shade latest (7F Naas), but drops back in trip 2F here.
Forecasts
Snowstar (7/2), Sammyjade (5/1), Silverkode (6/1), Ice Canyon (6/1), Flower Of May (7/1), Camiyra (8/1), Guardia Svizzera (10/1), Realt Rua (12/1), Tookiedoo (14/1), Rimshot (25/1), Passionatta (50/1), My Butterfly (50/1), Adelena (66/1)
An open looking maiden, but perhaps not blessed with talent in depth. Snowstar ran well behind Dierama (who runs later on the card) at Navan last month and is closely matched with SILVERKODE who maybe capable of reversing that form on softer ground. Ice Canyon has had plenty of chances, but remains respected whilst various tweaks for Rimshot (trip) and Realt Rua (trip) may lead to improved showings.
- Silverkode
- Realt Rua
- Ice Canyon
