Mostly respectable efforts this year and take a drop in grade here after the handicapper has eased his mark slightly. This is very much his trip and he has won twice in this grade before and looks relatively well drawn.
Went through a purple match on the Fibresand at Southwell when first landing with this yard winning three in a row. A rise in the handicap has seen him below form and despite being dropped 4lb from his last run others have more pressing claims here.
Last win came here over a slightly shorter trip and off a 2lb higher mark and he's now down to a mark that looks fair. May have found the trip a little too far last time and usually held-up (not easy to pull off tactics like that around here) and may find life difficult from stall 1.
Has won over C&D but has shown very little on turf and AW surfaces this year and remains 5lb above his last winning mark.
Not won for a while but is now well below that last winning mark of 75 and shaped with promise last time out under a fully-fledged rider. Did best of those that race prominently at Redcar when taking the runner-up slot behind one (Wink Oliver) who was more conservatively ridden and has won again since. A repeat of that run would see him go close here although the wide draw won't help.
Small yard whose team have been going well of late and this one finished a decent second last time out to one who is improving rapidly off a very lenient turf mark. Edging back down the weights and although drawn a little wide his chance is respected here.
A non-runner earlier in the week at Hamilton she is still seeking that elusive first win after 13 attempts. Consistent enough and is starting to fall in the weights but hardly one for maximum faith.
Has dropped down below her last winning mark and she does have winning form to her name albeit nearly a year ago when she was in much better form. Very much looked as though she needed the run last time out and may show more with that behind her and back below her last winning mark.
Took a couple of runs for this very capable yard to get a handle on him but he bounced back to form last time out when winning over a mile at Ayr but looked full value for his win. Given a 4lb rise for that win but may have more to come having been rated higher in the past with this yard in decent form.
Goes from 2lb out of the handicap here and has really struggled for form since last year and doesn't look as though he is going to turn things around anytime soon.
Forecasts
Character Onesie (3/1), Green Howard (7/2), Thornaby Nash (11/2), Rosamaria (13/2), Mr Cool Cash (7/1), All You (7/1), Midlight (15/2), Shearian (16/1), La Havrese (20/1), Ivors Involvement (33/1)
Several in this that run off what can be called feasible marks such as Character Onesie and Green Howard although the latter hasn’t won for a very long while. Thornaby Nash is another who hasn’t tasted a win for a while but the form of his Redcar win stacks up well enough although the wide draw won’t help. All You looks to have some of the best form on offer but hold-up tactics are hard to pull off around here and he might not be able to use his good draw in stall 1. With Ruth Carr having her team in good form it would be no surprise to see MIDLIGHT follow up his Ayr win off a mark that doesn’t look too onerous.
- Midlight
- Thornaby Nash
