In cracking form and never looked in danger of defeat at Fontwell latest, that victory coming quickly after his Trecoed Open win. Looks to be improving and should be one of the main players here, with any rain no issue.
Improving and couldn't have done the job any easier at Trebudannon last time, never coming off the bridle to win 15l. Has won on soft this season so any rain not a problem, and has to be taken seriously as one going the right way.
Tends to set off at a right rate of knots and if jumping fluently, might take some pegging back around this tight track. Has won his last two by huge margins and isn't flattered by either, so has to be high on the shortlist for this.
Rattled off a hat-trick of wins at his local course, Kingston Blount, in April and May and clearly in good heart. Has gone well on a tight track in the past and handles some cut, so plenty going for his chances, and not discounted.
Easy winner of last two, an Open and Restricted, and another that looks to be improving quickly. May not want ground to get too soft and will be taken on for lead, but should go well nevertheless and not out of it.
Got off the mark for the season when winning a Restricted at Dingley latest, but the form of that falls some way short of what's requited here. More to do.
Nothing if not consistent and has finished runner-up on all his last six starts, not a bad effort when runner up in a handicap at Ffos Las latest and step up in trip (and any rain) a plus. Still plenty on his plate though.
Has been mopping up in small field Restricted events and clearly in good heart, but others boast stronger form credentials and he needs improvement to get involved.
Was hard to win with when with Tim Vaughan, but has righted that with wins in two of his last three point-to-points. Did it easily enough at Cothelstone last time but needs another step forward here.
Won a small race at Tabley in April but that form, and subsequent efforts, won't be good enough to trouble the best of these.
Turned his form around with a solid enough victory at Holnicote latest, but that race rather fell apart, and requires him to improve here.
Easy winner of last two, an Open at Lydstep (two finishers) and Restricted at Llwyn Ddu. Good jockey booking and better can be expected from an improving sort. Not discounted.
Has made all on his last three starts, the form looks solid at this level and an excellent jockey booking in James Bowen. Plenty to like about his chances, and should be on the premises.
Came with a late rattle to pick off the odds-on favourite at Garthorpe on latest start, but has been well beaten before that and her form needs another step forward to get involved here.
Forecasts
Bay Sly (7/4), Spencer Moon (3/1), Awesome Tunes (10/1), Gone Platinum (11/1), Changeofluck (12/1), Robin Des People (12/1), Ruperra Tom (14/1), Moreece (16/1), Minella Arts (20/1), Don't Doittome (25/1), Glory Hunter (50/1), Prince Of Poets (66/1), Demood (66/1), Packettotherafters (66/1)
This is a cracking renewal and any number can be given some sort of chance on the best of their form. However, they could all be chasing shadows if BAY SLY continues in the same vein as he has been doing. He's only got the one tactic - go hell for leather from the get-go, and if he gets in a rhythm, could be hard to catch. Spencer Moon might be the one if the selection fails to fire, and he won't mind any softening of the ground either. Ruperra Tom is piloted by man-of-the-moment James Bowen and can go close too.
- Bay Sly
- Spencer Moon
- Ruperra Tom
