Has put in a couple of decent efforts over 5f on fast ground so far this spring, although perhaps he didn't improve quite as had been anticipated at Ayr last time. Not one to be writing off yet and this step up in trip looks positive, so probably a leading player again.

Meets Collingham Park on the same terms as when finishing just a head behind that rival at Ayr last month, though didn't managed to build on that at Beverley last time. Another who can't be written off purely on that basis, but has a little bit to prove now stepped up in trip.

Beaten 11½L on debut at Beverley (5f, good) last month when sent off at 25-1 and pedigree suggests that he will be doing better over middle distances, so even though he is stepped up in trip here he may be best watched again this time.

14-1 and beaten almost 10L when eighth of 13 on his Newcastle debut (6f, AW) last month. Although pedigree leans towards middle distances, he is half-brother to a 6f juvenile winner and may be able to show enough speed to get more competitive on the back of that initial experience.

Hasn't shown a huge amount of promise in two runs so far and certainly not threatened to win a contest of this nature. Bred to do better over 1m or more, so looks one to watch with future nurseries in mind.

Half-brother to a winner over 1m on the Fibresand out of a mare who was placed once over 5f from 11 starts. Not the sort of pedigree that jumps off the page ahead of this debut and looks one to watch.

Forecasts

Sandie Gem (2/1), Collingham Park (9/4), Shaheen (5/2), Go Now Go Now (9/2), Reinbeau Prince (14/1), Kylie Rules (33/1), Harvest Day (40/1)

Verdict

Not the strongest of starts to the card and COLLINGHAM PARK looks the best of those to have raced so far, so he might be able to break his maiden this time. Go Now Go Now was not far behind him at Ayr and merits respect, while Shaheen and the newcomer Sandie Gem look the most interesting of the remainder.
  1. Collingham Park
  2. Shaheen
  3. Sandie Gem
