Started a four-race winning spree here last August. Has been racing at a higher level lately but now drops into a class where he is 2-3. Stable in form and the forecast softer ground will help.
Consistent sort on the AW and has winning form on a soft surface over hurdles. Ran below his best in bad ground at York but cannot be ruled out here unless conditions deteriorate further.
Without a win since 2015 but ran well on return when the ground was unsuitable and 3lb lower here. Trip would have been too sharp last time and he would probably want slightly further than this.
Goes well around here and will relish the conditions. Has performed well below his best lately and is handicapped accordingly. Last three runs have come during a quiet period for the yard but there are signs of improvement in the last few days.
Won twice last spring with plenty of cut in the ground, including on his handicap debut at Beverley (1m4f) from a 5lb higher mark. Now 5lb below his last winning mark but needs to show more positive signs of an imminent change in fortunes.
Looked a tricky customer when with Andrew Balding for whom he won a minor race. Scored that day without coming off the bridle and the prospects of him coming out on top, if this comes down to a battle, are remote.

Forecasts
Rainbow Rebel (7/4), Swaheen (3/1), Cape Of Glory (3/1), Lac Leman (4/1), Brandon Castle (6/1), Top of The Glas (15/2), Abareeq (8/1), Another Go (18/1)
Swaheen will relish the conditions and his mark is looking attractive but his last two victories have come over longer trips. Top Of The Glas runs this track particularly well and he is another on a handy weight with his stable showing signs of getting back amongst the winners after a relatively quiet spell. RAINBOW REBEL has winning form around here and has been highly tried of late. He had no chance with an easy winner in the Zetland Gold Cup but takes a big drop in class here. A 2-3 record at this level and a preference for soft ground suggest that Mark Johnston has found the right race for him to open his account for 2017.
