Looks to be struggling a bit of late and ran well below form last time out. Has won over C&D last summer off 2lb higher but the recent struggles are off putting.
Showed very little when he was with Richard Fahey last year drawing a blank and has shown very little for new connections in two runs so far.
Probably showed his best form last time out beating a subsequent 7L winner over 1m1f last week pulling well clear of the rest and improving on his record here. Carries a penalty here for that win that takes him to a career high but should get the easy lead that helps him here.
Stable are starting to show signs of life after a very slow start to the season with a few running better of late. This one returned at Musselburgh with a reasonable run but has not backed it up in the last two runs and still has questions to answer here.
Never showed much for his last stable (Michael Dods) and was very lightly-raced and didn't look to show much more for his new yard. This trip also looks as though it will test him with his better form coming over 6f.
Could be given a chance on some of his maiden form but he's not really progressed since then in handicaps even off a mark that is tumbling very quickly and will do well to make an impression here.

Forecasts
Amy Blair (4/5), Framley Garth (7/2), African Trader (6/1), Rosamaria (6/1), Dark Crystal (15/2), Hellavashock (9/1), Lawman's Justice (16/1), Stardrifter (20/1)
Not a particularly deep contest and despite the fact that AMY BLAIR looks harshly treated under a penalty here around his favourite course and with an easy lead he may be able to add another course win to his name. Opposition looks pretty thin on the ground although with the Linda Perratt yard starting to show signs of life Dark Crystal may be able to bounce back to form with African Trader given a chance to show that he can perform in handicaps – he has less convictions than most in this.
