Progressive with three wins in four starts before pulling up in a quite valuable Killarney handicap hurdle last time. This is much easier and, providing it does not rain too much, she is a leading player despite top weight. Cheekpieces fitted for the first time.
The latest of her two hurdles successes came in May, last year, since when she has struggled. Her handicap mark has come down in line with that regression, but she needs to show more before she can be recommended as a punting proposition.
Got off the mark over hurdles at the ninth attempt when winning easily at Worcester last time and runs off an 11lb higher mark. That makes life tough, but it is encouraging that the champion jockey is on board again and she is much respected.
Won easily at at Stratford in May before finishing a well-beaten favourite at Warwick last time. Good jockey booking, but she is likely to struggle again off this loftier handicap rating.
Showed promise in bumpers, but has not translated that to hurdles and has been placed only once in seven starts over timber. She was beaten a long way when eighth of nine at Catterick last time and looks to have plenty to do against some of these.
Solid efforts without getting her head in front since joining her current trainer. She does not leap off the page given her current rating but is consistent and likely to be thereabouts for a long way.
Forecasts
Viking Mistress (5/2), Mystic Sky (3/1), Fit The Brief (9/2), Heaven Scent (5/1), Bitter Virtue (8/1), Miss Maiden Over (8/1)
Viking Mistress is likely to be popular following her easy Worcester win and has to go on the short list with the champion riding again. That said, she has been raised 11lb for winning and may be too close in the handicap to top weight MISS MAIDEN OVER, who got bogged down in the mud last time and is back to a more realistic level. The consistent Heaven Scent may do best of the rest.
