Only fifth of six at Perth after a five-month absence, he needs to step up on that effort and rediscover the form which saw him land a novices' handicap chase at Stratford in October. Likely to be fitter today and 2lb fall in the weights is a help. Likes good ground.
Won a chase and a handicap hurdle after joining this yard, but was well beaten over timber at Warwick last time when he was given plenty to do. Has been running over farther, but takes a keen hold and the drop in trip might actually help. Leading contender.
Consistent sort who usually runs his race, but he has not won since landing a three-runner chase at Fontwell in February, 2016. Has been inching his way down the weights and certainly has a chance off this mark for respected connections following a fair effort in a Huntingdon handicap hurdle last time.
Won a Worcester handicap chase off 8lb lower a year ago, but was pulled up and finished seventh of eight on two subsequent starts. Has a long absence to overcome and can only be watched under the circumstances.
Capable at best and won a handicap chase at Market Rasen off a 7lb lower mark in June, last year. Dangerously well handicapped on that effort, but recent displays have been woeful and he needs to regain his spark.
Has won one of his nine starts over fences, but something seemed to go amiss and he was pulled up when last seen at Wetherby in February. Before that he had finished a short-head second at Ludlow off this mark and, with the champion jockey back on board, he must go close if all is well with him.
Has reached the veteran stage, but that did not stop him winning at Kempton last time on his 33rd start over fences. Likely to give his running again, but has gone up 6lb for that success and that may stop him.

The drop in trip might play to his strengths and he is feared, along with Midnight Chorister, Vexillum and Golanova, who all have claims. However, ACES OVER EIGHTS only narrowly failed to win off this mark at Ludlow two starts ago and, with the champion back on board, looks sure to make a bold bid.
