Hasn't been able to get involved in his recent starts but has his sights lowered now, having won a similar race at Warwick in November. Remains 5lb in the weights now but could show more in first time cheek pieces.
Won with something in hand at Market Rasen last time and is now raised 7lb by the handicapper. Seems to be improving over fences, having made fewer jumping errors last time, and another big run should be on the cards.
Never figured on his return to the track at Plumpton last month but was entitled to badly need that run having been off for two years prior to that. Collected some good form before that absence and has a chance here if able to show his best once again.
Won in November off what was actually a higher mark than he has today, but has badly lost his way since, not seemingly travelling in any of his races. Seems regressive and his advancing years may be taking effect.
Won a similar race to this at Market Rasen latest having improved 15lb over the past year, which is especially impressive given his age. Needs to find yet more here, but that's not out of the question given his current form.
Has been restricted to three runs in the past year, all of which have been of little account, and he's never won beyond 2m1f despite several attempts, which is of obvious concern in this race.

He may have been raised 7lb by the handicapper since his last time out victory, but SONNEOFPRESENTING looks a likely type to improve again and make this a third win of his career. It was impossible not to be impressed with his performance at Market Rasen in September, when he won with something to spare, and this progressive type is the stand-out candidate in a race lacking serious depth. Highbury High is another improving last time out Market Rasen winner, made all the more impressive by his age, but must surely reach his ceiling sooner rather than later, while Jay Are clearly needed the run at Plumpton last time and should do better here.
