Series of solid placed efforts this term before disappointing effort last time. Not discounted on evidence of one below-par run but has plenty of weight and will need to be on his game to figure.
Not scored since racecourse debut at Wetherby in July 2015. Hold up horse who will need things to fall his way in this big field, but has possibilities on his best form.
Won over C&D on this card two years ago and has fallen back to fair mark. Will be better for recent seasonal return and one to consider.
Two wins both came on soft ground so any of the forecast rain would be a boost to his chances. Not shown a great deal in three starts this season but has been given a chance by the handicapper.
Veteran soft ground/Fibresand performer who needs plenty of give underfoot to be seen at his best. Chance rests on the ground easing but has been in fair form at Southwell this winter.
Admirable old-timer who landed second win so far this year when toughing it out at Ayr 12 days ago. Just 2lb higher now but this is competitive . Wouldn't really be suited by any easing of the ground.
Badly out of form both on the Flat and over jumps of late and looks to need more help from the handicapper before getting competitive again. has won over C&D in past though.
Previous C&D winner has really struggled on A/W of late but better judged on turf efforts last term which give him a shout here. Positive jockey booking.
Appears better on A/W than turf and has been running well in that sphere in recent months. Failed to place though in eight starts on the grass so has something to prove.
First-time blinkers may help spark him into life but appears a doubtful stayer at this trip judging on balance of form to date. Others make more appeal.
On 31-race losing streak stretching back almost three years but has run some fair races along the way. Has fallen to feasible mark and yard in decent form so one of the more likely outsiders in an open contest.
Seems better at 7f than 1m but showed he isn't far from reaching concert pitch with satisfactory run at Doncaster on seasonal reappearance. Worth checking for any market interest.
Landed Lingfield A/W maiden in January for Richard Spencer. Some promise on only starts so far for new connections in Ayr amateur riders race and not without hope with stronger handling from the saddle.
Likes a sharp track, winning at Catterick and Musselburgh to date. Seems best though at 7f and question mark that this trip will bring out the best in him.
Combination of first-time tongue-tie and eyecatching jockey booking suggest connections are hopeful of a bold show. Has tumbled down the weights so arguably well handicapped on best of old form.
Has failed to shine in last four starts since scoring at Newcastle A/W this winter. Likely to struggle again and is hard to recommend.
Beaten very few horses home in eight starts since joining current yard and despite lowly mark would be a major shock if he doesn't finish with more in front than behind.
Forecasts
Sunnua (13/2), Mr Cool Cash (7/1), Tadaawol (7/1), Kenstone (15/2), Rayaa (8/1), Rebel State (10/1), Mango Chutney (12/1), Kiwi Bay (12/1), Green Howard (14/1), Bold Spirit (14/1), In Focus (16/1), Royal Holiday (16/1), Favourite Treat (16/1), Framley Garth (20/1), Willsy (20/1), The King's Steed (40/1), Nelson's Bay (50/1)
A fiendishly difficult handicap and a chance is taken that IN FOCUS can step up a gear with a top jockey now booked for duty. He is very well handicapped on old form if the old sparkle is still there. Grand old-timer Kiwi Bay could be a danger after a nice win last time out, and another veteran, Green Howard, is expected to be on the premises. Favourite Treat and Rebel State are others worth a second glance.
- In Focus
- Green Howard
- Favourite Treat
