Better effort over C&D last week but the handicapper has him in his sights and he may need more assistance despite being 3lb lower than his last winning mark. Also has a bit to find with Jay Kay.
Lost his way towards the end of his time with Roger Varian and didn't really fire up the imagination on his debut for his new yard last time out. Dropped to a handy rating but needs to prove his well being.
Solid claims on the best of his efforts but appears to be where the handicapper wants him to be and has very little room to manoeuvrer on these terms. Capable rider's 5lb claim will be a big help though. Leading contender.
Ran well over C&D last week and would be dangerous to leave out of the equation. Rain wouldn't be an issue for him and, given that he goes well for tonight's rider, he is capable of getting involved at the business end.
Won his maiden over 6f at this course and time may tell he was far from disgraced on handicap debut latest. Needs to wind things up a couple of notches but going the right way and has more secrets from the handicapper than most.
Consistent since making a winning debut as a juvenile but has met with little respite from the handicapper as a result. Tough task ahead on these terms but no surprise to see him make the frame.
First start since May, so possible he will have been freshened up by the short break. Needs to find more than he has consented to show of late and others probably have his measure.
Forecasts
Jay Kay (10/3), Chaplin Bay (7/2), Fieldsman (7/2), Saint Equiano (9/2), Tailor's Row (15/2), Safe Voyage (14/1), Party Tiger (14/1), Majdool (66/1)
SAINT EQUIANO is less exposed than most and may be able to step things up a little now he has the benefit of a seasonal run behind him. Chaplin Bay and Jay Kay are others that appeal on these terms but like Tailor's Row, the handicapper has them just about where he wants them and they will need to be at their best come out on top.
