A narrow winner on debut at Thirsk (5F, good to firm) last month. Steps up in trip to 6F for his AW debut, and his pedigree suggests that will suit. Carries a penalty, but this race would appear only a fraction stronger than his debut success.

Shaped with some promise in a division of the Brocklesby on debut in early April (50/1); a race in which a stablemate of Guzman (Almane) finished fourth. Not able to improve upon that effort when stepped up to 6F at Redcar recently and now switched to synthetics.

Slowly away on debut, but kept on to finish a head second to Chookie Dunedin over this trip at Ayr last week. Turned out quickly with the hood retained and well capable of building upon that showing if handling the switch to Tapeta.

£10,000 yearling, unraced tenth foal by Pastoral Pursuits out of Justbetweenfriends, and a half-brother to four winners. Stable introduced a pleasing juvenile winner at this track in April, and one to watch for market support.
Unraced Captain Gerrard colt out of Dalmunzie, and a full-brother to winning sprinters He's My Cracker and You're My Cracker. With high profile owners, and the yard had a juvenile newcomer that ran well enough at this track on Thursday evening (finished fourth).

Faced a stiff task on debut at Leicester in April (5F) against a Hugo Palmer trained odds-on shot, and ran rather green in producing a mid pack finish. Upped in trip which should suit and closely related to AW winner King Bertie, so hopefully this surface will suit.

Not shown a great deal in either start on turf so far (both runs at Ayr). Blew the start when stepped up in trip to 6F latest, and plenty of work to be done with Bustam on that evidence.
Unraced Big Bad Bob filly out of Place De Moscou, and receives the weight allowance from all seven of her rivals. A fourth foal who is a half-sister to a couple of winners (over diverse trips), but she's most likely to benefit for this experience rather than be competitive in terms of the placings.

Forecasts

Bustam (8/15), Guzman (3/1), Benadalid (7/1), Plundered (14/1), Hello My Sunshine (25/1), Cuillin Hills (25/1), Sam James (33/1), Brough Lane Lass (66/1)

Verdict

The step up in trip to 6F should suit the Thirsk winner GUZMAN, and despite carrying a penalty, this race is probably only a shade stronger than the one he won last month. He's entitled to come on for that experience, and with his trainers juveniles in good form is likely to prove a tough nut to crack. Bustam is the most obvious danger if able to build upon last week's Ayr showing, whilst Hello My Sunshine and Cuillin Hills are the newcomers to note if market confidence is strong.
