Winner of a similar event over 2m at Fakenham (good) by 20L last month. Registering his first success since joining this yard on that occasion and has to concede weight to all his rivals today.
Maiden after 15 starts and well held off a mark of 74 at Sedgefield (good) over 2m1f last month. More needed if he's to take this.
Failed to complete on two of his last three starts including when falling in a 2m4f maiden hurdle here on good ground last month. Drops into this company for the first time today.
Four times a winner over hurdles including in this race in 2014 but the most recent of those came in September 2015. Beaten 40L+ the last twice and unseated his rider early on in this event last year.
Returned from a spell in point-to-points when pulling up in a similar race here last month. More needed if he's to figure today.
Put in a career best effort when 12L fourth in a similar race to this over C&D on good ground a month ago. Interesting to see if he can repeat that here.
Failed to build on early promise for Nicky Henderson and pulled up on his last three outings for that yard. Joined current connections for £3,000 via the sales ring last month and likely to prove hard to beat if the change of scene can spark a revival.
Well beaten in all five rules starts so far including when pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Sedgefield (good) last month. More needed if she's to trouble the judge in this.
Signs of ability on bumper debut in July 2013 but had just four starts since and likely to struggle once more today.
Forecasts
Back To Balloo (7/4), Towering (5/2), Mighty Whitey (5/1), Lavella Wells (9/1), Spinning Scooter (10/1), Loughview Laddie (12/1), Absolute (25/1), Raifteiri (250/1), Heavenly Gait (250/1)
TOWERING can make a winning debut for his new connections in this opening selling event. The selection won at Cheltenham off a mark of 120 in September 2015 and his new stable have done well with horses from other stables in the past. Back To Balloo won a similar race to this at Fakenham last time and can finish second under top weight while Mighty Whitey who won this race in 2014 can claim third in this years renewal.
- Towering
- Back To Balloo
- Mighty Whitey
