Beaten 1L when finishing runner-up in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (good) in April and staying on in fifth when falling at the last at Aintree (good) over 2m4f subsequently. Slight step up in trip looks likely to suit and an interesting runner today.
Finished fourth on all three starts for this yard including when beaten 12½L over 2m3f at Taunton (good) three months ago. Wears a tongue tie for the first time today for a yard with a 22% strike-rate recently (2/9).
Twice a winner on the Flat and making his debut for this yard when finishing 20L third over 2m4f at Sedgefield (good) last month. Wore a tongue tie for the first time on that occasion but has a bit to find at these weights.
Unraced for Willie Mullins in Ireland and well beaten in two bumpers for this stable so far. Latest of those came when beaten 100L over an extended 2m at Doncaster (good) in February and likely best watched on hurdling debut.
Finished runner-up to a subsequent dual rules winner in his third point-to-point start but disappointed twice in bumpers subsequently in Ireland. Sprung a surprise when a 50/1 winner of a 2m maiden hurdle at Warwick (good-to-soft) on her debut for this yard last month and interesting to see if she can follow up here.
Down Royal bumper winner on good ground 13 months ago on second outing. Subsequently purchased by current connections for ÂŁ25,000 and has finished runner-up on both hurdles starts to date including over 2m4f at Fakenham (good-to-soft) last time out in December.
Promising debut when 9½L seventh of nine in a bumper on good-to-soft ground at Huntingdon in March and beaten 21L into sixth over an extended 2m on good here subsequently. Making his hurdling debut today.
Forecasts
Lithic (11/10), Blue Comet (2/1), Rebel Yeats (5/1), Third Estate (8/1), Freewheel (20/1), Oregon Gold (33/1), Lord Bunnacurry (100/1)
LITHIC was running well when coming to grief in a Class 2 handicap at Aintree when last seen in action and can register a second victory over hurdles having won at Huntingdon on soft ground in March. Surprise Warwick winner Rebel Yeats can claim second on just her second outing for this trainer while Blue Comet, fourth on both of his hurdles starts so far can claim third on this occasion.
