Both the yard's juvenile winners have come with debutantes and that makes this €11,000 Tagula colt worthy of respect. He's a half-brother to 7f winner Marcus Caesar (by Antonius Pius) and 6f winner Fit For Fun (by Bushranger) so he might just need another furlong to show his best.
Just the one juvenile winner for this yard so far this year but this Dandy Man colt shaped with real promise on his debut at York over 5f where he met a previous winner who looks useful. No match for that winner but he still showed that there was plenty to work on and this quicker ground should suit him better.
A rare two-year-old runner for a predominantly jumping yard he's been well held in two minor events so far and will do well to trouble the principals here.
Both two-year-old wins for this yard have been gained by the same horse (the smart Santry) who beat Consequences last time out. Showed fair form when second to subsequent National Stakes winner Havana Grey at Ayr and shaped better than final placing when fifth at Carlisle last time (ridden too aggressively). Could well be more improvement to come.
Stable have gradually picked up the pace with their juveniles this season this Exceed And Excel colt makes plenty of appeal on pedigree. Yard know how to get one ready first time out but will need to be smart to get the better of Consequences.
First juvenile runner of the season for a yard not known for their debutante winners in this sphere and faces a stiff task on debut.
Only shown modest form so far although there was some improvement from first to second run at Goodwood last time out. Settled better on that start and looks to have ability, travelling well having had a wide trip and worst of the draw. Could well build on that run here although the chances are she has run into at least a couple of useful sorts.
Forecasts
Consequences (2/11), W G Grace (9/1), Pursuing The Dream (11/1), Shay C (20/1), Cobbler Quinn (22/1), Haxby Juniors (150/1), I Am Dandy (200/1)
This looks to be quite a good class juvenile event for the track with CONSEQUENCES the main player after his run at York last time. That run will give Declan Carroll a line on the form as it was his useful Santry that beat Consequences and he runs Shay C who may be up to winning a maiden eventually. Cobbler Quinn should be watched in the market for the Dalgleish yard which have had a couple of first time up winning two-year-olds but the main dangers are more likely to come from W G Grace and Pursuing The Dream both who have something to recommend them.
