Registered her first success in two years when scoring at her beloved Ripon in August 2016 from a mark of 77. Raced fairly solidly in better company thereafter and this is her easiest assignment in a while. Should be approaching peak fitness now after a couple of recent outings, and possibilities if effective on Tapeta.

Can race keenly as she did when a runner up here over 5F in October, and has never raced over further than the minimum distance in 23 career starts. Well beaten here when last in action on Good Friday, and very vulnerable over this new trip.

Has moved yards a couple of times over the winter and found winning opportunities tough to come by despite running consistently well for David Barron. Won for Jose Santos over this trip at Chelmsford in March, and clearly needs the cards to drop right, but handles this track well and is in good hands to profit on the AW surfaces.

Given a break since finishing fourth on stable debut to Spinwheel over 7F in February, and her previous form for Simon Crisford and Richard Hannon implies that 6F is possibly her optimum trip. Back against her own sex and one to keep an eye on going forward.

Verdict

A small field, but some likeable enough fillies in their own grade which should make for an interesting and informative contest. Love Island adores Ripon, and has raced in better races than this since winning there in August, and holds claims for a trainer who knows what it takes to produce winners on this surface. Both Fredricka and Palenville are with new or relatively new connections and are worth keeping an eye on for the future, but perhaps JAMEERAH is the horse for today. Soft ground on turf wasn't ideal for her at Thirsk last month, but she'll relish the switch back to synthetics, and a 4lb rise for her cosy October Chelmsford success is possibly a shade too lenient, so hopes must be high she can make it 4 from 8 on AW surfaces.
  1. Jameerah
  2. Love Island
  3. Palenville
