Has been supported in all three starts this season since joining this yard (won only start for previous trainer over 1m1f at Carlisle in a maiden) but failed to deliver. Stamina perhaps stretched over 2m at York latest but down in trip and with first-time cheekpieces, this looks much more his thing.
Sole victory to date came in Sligo maiden over this sort of trip in June last year, not disgraced in a couple of Listed races at Ayr (1m2f, soft) and Leopardstown (1m2f, yielding) last backend and could get himself back on track in this company.
Most recent success came over 1m5f (soft, heavy in places) at Ayr last July off a mark of 81. Has toiled in two runs since returning to action and, on balance, appears best watched currently. Down in trip.
Doesn't win many (1/15) but has gone well in two of three runs this term, on turf at Doncaster in early April and 13 days ago on first AW outing at Newcastle (3L behind Spes Nostra) both at around this sort of trip. Could run into a place here perhaps in first-time cheekpieces.
Successful over 1m1f at Ayr (good to soft) in July off a mark of 74, though subsequent efforts have been tame. Last of six here over 1m½f recently and drops just 1lb for that. Needs to bounce back.
Still rather an enigma, with more than 400 days separating each of his first three runs (all over hurdles). Reappeared at Thirsk last month for Flat debut and was 13¾L last of six over 7f on good to firm ground having gone off 100/1. Bit of leap of faith to support right now.
Yet to win on turf but has been placed five times in 15 runs, most recently at Beverley over 1m2f (good to firm) last month when beaten less than 1L. Raised the minimum for that, looks a leading contender in this field.
Six efforts this year to date on AW/Flat have been a mixed bag. Recent runs at Musselburgh have suggested this drop in distance might work and is well worth noting in the betting now.

Falcon's Fire has not perhaps been at his best this year but he's threatened to show it and this drop in distance might help him along the way. Similarly, Gaelic Tiger has been supported in three runs since joining current trainer but 2m last time at York perhaps stretched him out too far and he is respected now back down in trip. Navajo War Dance has some claims if repeating the efforts at Doncaster and on AW at Newcastle lately but KINGTHISTLE might get a deserved turf breakthrough in this having showcased his well-being at Beverley recently with a good runner-up finish. My Brother, dropping from Listed company, is one to pay attention to on his seasonal bow.
