Horse A-Z
Useful point-to-point winner who improved for softer ground in that sphere. Sure to want further than this but he's an interesting runner who has the benefit of experience on his side over most of these.
Point-to-point winner last time out on good to firm ground and picked up by top connections since. Yard do well with these types and they have a respectable record in bumpers so every chance he could be above average and take this contest.

Scorpion gelding. cost €9,000 as a yearling and €7,000 as a three year-old. Half brother to 2m hurdle winner Riverboat Man along with some Flat winners. One of the more interesting debutantes and trainer doing better with his bumper runners in recent times.
Scorpion gelding, cost £6,500 as a three-year-old. Dam a full-sister to chase winner Mr Moss. Trainer has had winners in the sphere in recent years so it will be interesting to see what the market makes of him and his stablemate.

Midnight Legend gelding, full brother to Midnight Sapphire and dam was a hurdle and chase winner between 2m and 2m7f. Yard do well in this sphere and a market check vital.

50/1
Getaway mare, cost €1,300 as a yearling. Dam closely related to the high-class Teaatral. Didn't show anything to work on when debuting last year at Taunton and others make more appeal given that the yard are yet to have a winner in this sphere.

With The Flow filly, dam was a moderate Flat winner but half-sister to the useful Henryville. Yard do better with their Flat runners than they do NH horses and they've not had a winner in the last year. 2-68 in bumpers and worth opposing.

Forecasts

Horse Force One (1/1), Rod's Dream (3/1), Farmer Lad (8/1), Farmer Boy (10/1), Breaking Ground (10/1), Lapford Lad (10/1), I Should Coco (12/1), Neetside (50/1)

Verdict

HORSE FORCE ONE is hard to oppose for connections who do well in this sphere after winning a point-to-point when last seen. Breaking Ground has more experience than most of these and may be capable of running a place. David Pipe's runners warrant respect on debut and the market may be the best indication to Rod's Dream's chance.
  1. Horse Force One
  2. Breaking Ground
  3. Rod's Dream
