Used a shorter trip , a sounder surface and a new trainer to his advantage when getting off the mark over hurdles at Downpatrick last time out in good style *had previously won a bumper on heavy but that was a weak-looking affair). Has to be a big player here once again on that basis, especially as he has those conditions here as well.
Easily won a relatively weak maiden hurdle at Killarney last time out (2m1f, good), in the style of a horse who could improve further. This demands more, but he's not dismissed if able to show that improvement.
Returns to maiden hurdle company having failed to get off the mark in bumpers earlier in the year. Did finish behind (but well beaten by) some promising types in those contests, but more will be needed here regardless. Also engaged yesterday 6:00 Ballinrobe.
Couldn't complete a hat-trick at Punchestown last month in a highly competitive affair, which may have exposed his limitations given he didn't have any obvious excuse, except maybe the increase in trip. If that was the problem he can do better here, as he is back down in distance.
Has finished second on two starts over hurdles so far but never really looked like the winner in either of them, and may be short of the quality required to take a maiden hurdle of this nature. Also engaged yesterday 7:00 Ballinrobe.
Held every chance off up the run-in at Cork last time and was unlucky to be beaten narrowly, having gotten off the mark at Tramore two starts ago. Previously finished fourth to Airlie Beach in a Grade 3, and would be especially interesting if some rain were to come.

DORANS RIVER looked a different proposition at Downpatrick last time out when he seemed to use more suitable conditions combined with a new top trainer in Gordon Elliott to his advantage and won with something in hand. If repeating that performance under a 3lb penalty (which shouldn't prove too much of an issue), he can secure a second win over hurdles here. It may be Little Folke who chases him home, having been unlucky to be beaten narrowly at Cork last time, while Blast of Koeman is another who must concede weight (and more of it at that), but looks to be one of the biggest improvers in the race.
- Dorans River
- Little Folke
- Blast Of Koeman
