Winner over this trip at Beverley (good-to-firm) earlier this month. Well held at Nottingham (good) subsequently and races off a mark 3lb higher than for that Beverley success today.

Beaten 7½L into third in a 16 runner contest over 1m4f at York (soft) earlier this month. Making his seasonal debut on that occasion and an interesting runner with the same 7lb claimer in the saddle once more.

Winner 11 times from 87 starts so far. Held in all four runs in 2017 so far but now finds himself racing off the same mark that saw him win over this distance at Nottingham (good) last September and market support would be interesting here.

Ran fair races twice so far in 2017. Beaten 7L into fourth over 1m4f at Thirsk (good-to-firm) earlier this month and finished 2L third at Beverley (good-to-firm) prior to that, also finished third in this race in 2016 and drops in trip today.

Twice a winner in 2015 but lightly raced since. Returning from over 16 months off the track at Wolverhampton on debut for this yard in April and beaten 28L on that occasion. Similar result next time and drops in trip today.

Won twice over hurdles in spring 2016 and has run well since in that sphere. Well beaten twice in Flat handicaps the last twice however and more needed if he's to take this.

Forecasts

Visitant (2/1), Sunglider (4/1), Peterhouse (5/1), Cornborough (7/1), Jabbaar (15/2), Save The Bees (8/1), Tapis Libre (16/1), Deinonychus (50/1)

Verdict

PETERHOUSE has twice run well over 1m4f this season and can register a first victory since winning over this trip in 2015 by taking what looks a competitive affair. The selection finished a close third in this contest last year and can go two better this time around. Visitant remains open to improvement following an impressive win at Ayr on his first start at this distance last time and he is taken to finish second ahead of Deinonychus who has attempted to make all over further the last twice and may well appreciate this drop in trip.
