Well-beaten on debut having been sent off at 15/2, but raced a little keenly that day and now has a hood to assist. Can do better if that has the desired effect.
Sulamani gelding who's dam was mainly a 3m hurdler, though there is also enough pace in the pedigree to suggest a bumper would not be out of the question. Worth a check in the market.
Ran two fair races to finish fifth and sixth in competitive bumpers in December and April. Sets the form standard on that basis, and should be capable of going closer this time.
Well beaten last time out having run a fair race on debut earlier in the year. Will need to come on from that but this is a much less competitive affair.

Sulamani colt who has plenty of winners in his pedigree, including bumper winners (dam was placed in them). Goes for some top connections and is the newcomer who looks to have the most potential.
Flying Legend filly with a fair pedigree but will probably be better when progressing up in distance and over obstacles. A market move would still be notable on debut, however.

Forecasts

Raising The Bar (11/8), Potterman (13/8), Iron In The Soul (8/1), Legende Volante (8/1), By The Fireside (20/1), Motley Crew (20/1)

Verdict

It wouldn't be a total shock if any of these took this, but the tentative suggestion is RAISING THE BAR. Nicky Henderson's gelding has probably the best form in the book on the basis of two fair runs in bumpers earlier in the year, and can put that experience to good use here. Of the newcomers, Potterman appeals most in terms of pedigree, while it will be interesting to see if a first-time hood helps the free-going By The Fireside do any better on this second start.

  2. Potterman
  3. By The Fireside
