Early chase efforts were very moderate but he's gradually improved in this sphere and finally got off the mark over fences last time confirming a return to form. May not have needed to be at his best to beat the regressive Hargam and now goes back into a handicap off his lowest chase mark yet (still to win a handicap over hurdles or fences though).

Took a major step forward when winning on his second start over fences returning to form out of the blue taking advantage of a much reduced mark. The change of tactics benefitting last time with a positive ride looking to suit him and he could get another easy lead here. Has won off higher marks over hurdles so may well be able to cope with the 7lb rise here.

Chasing debutante who has won four times over hurdles and based on his form over the smaller obstacles may well be able to take a hand. Does come in here off the back of a poor effort though at Uttoxeter and has struggled off marks similar to this in the past.

Yet to win over hurdles/fences despite showing some useful form in France and was hooded for her GB debut at Newcastle when she started at 7/2. Sure to have needed the run after a break she took a string hold before being pulled-up (reportedly lost a shoe). This run should tell us an awful lot more (tongue-tie on for first-time) for an owner with a good record here off a 3lb lower mark than her GB debut.

Forecasts

Lofgren (5/4), Endless Credit (11/4), Martiloo (7/2), Perseid (6/1)

Verdict

Just the four go to post but it’s hard to rule any of the quartet out with Martiloo interesting in a first-time tongue tie being added to a hood after she shaped like she would need the run last time out at Newcastle. Lofgren has still to win a handicap but looks to be getting his act together over fences after defeating the regressive Hargam last time out. Perseid looks as though he can make his mark over fences but may need a little help from the handicapper and with the possibility of an easy lead ENDLESS CREDIT is taken to follow up his Perth win having won off higher marks over hurdles in the past.
