Bumper form showed some promise and he was looking as though he may well have gone close on his hurdles debut when falling. The ground may have been too testing at Doncaster but harder to forgive his latest run here. Has since moved out of the Nicholls camp and best watched for now.
Has shown no signs of ability in three runs at lengthy odds. Hard to recommend for a yard who are 2-122 over the past five seasons.

All the third places in his form figures have been at wide margins in small fields against top class horses. Best judged here on his fourth to Percy Street at Taunton in January which would be good enough for him to be involved.

Winner of a Plumpton bumper in 2015 and best effort since came at the same venue on his second start over hurdles. Appears best suited to a sound surface and has been off the track since February. Official handicap rating gives him a bit to find with Seven Nation Army.
Irish point-to-point winner who settled better when stringing out the field in a Hexham bumper. Makes her hurdling debut for a yard with a good record at the summer meetings here and which had a treble on the card 12 months ago.

Forecasts

The Wicket Chicken (10/11), Welluptoscratch (3/1), Be Daring (4/1), Seven Nation Army (8/1), Keepyourheadup (66/1)

Verdict

Seven Nation Army is the pick of those with hurdling form and a BHA rating of 107 sets a modest standard. Neil Mulholland had a treble on this card last year and THE WICKET CHICKEN ought to be good enough to take this on her hurdling bow. She had the recent Warwick winner Rebel Yeats behind in second when landing a point-to-point and she won an above average Hexham bumper in good style last time.
  1. The Wicket Chicken
  2. Seven Nation Army
  3. Welluptoscratch
