Half-brother to a couple of 5f juvenile winners but yard not renowned for producing two-year-old winners as a rule and may need more time.

January foal who changed hands for 110,000 guineas as a yearling and plenty to like about his pedigree. Yard's juvenile always command respect and this one is no different.

8/1
Likeable pedigree and changed hands for considerably more money as a yearling than a foal. Yard, as ever, amongst the juvenile winners recently and not hard to envisage a big run.
Precociously-bred, being a half-brother to two winning juveniles, whilst dam was a two-year-old winner also. Positive market vibes would make him interesting.

6/1
Changed hands for 70,000 guineas as a yearling, having cost markedly less as a foal. Dam was a juvenile winner over 6f and merits respect from a powerful yard.

Yard saddled the winner of this race last year but this one didn't look any great shakes at Pontefract on his debut, albeit running green. Better expected here but surprising if there isn't something to beat him.

Changed hands for 24,000 guineas as a yearling, having cost slightly more than that as a foal. One of two newcomers from the yard, betting should guide.

2/1
January foal who boasts an enviable pedigree, being a half-brother to a 5f winner, and cost 160,000 guineas. Yard's juveniles doing tremendously well so far this year and is obviously one to be interested in.
Middle-distance pedigree and wears a tongue-strap for his debut. Readily passed over as a longer term project.
Cheap purchase and - like her stablemate - doesn't have the profile to suggest she is capable of winning first time out.

Forecasts

Zaman (2/1), Mashaheer (3/1), Peter Leonard (6/1), Queen's Sargent (8/1), Move Over (8/1), Northern Law (8/1), Royal Household (16/1), Jazz Magic (20/1), Owen The Law (25/1), Lyrical Pursuit (33/1), Harvest Day (40/1)

Verdict

Probably a decent maiden featuring a host on interesting newcomers, none more so than ZAMAN. Charlie Appleby's juveniles have been in irresistible form so far this season and this Dutch Art colt should take some stopping unless the market suggests otherwise. Willie Haggas' Mashaheer also catches the eye on paper, whilst a market move for either Peter Leonard or the precocious Northern Law would also make them interesting.
  1. Zaman
  2. Mashaheer
  3. Peter Leonard
