Won a Wexford maiden hurdle when trained in Ireland by Elizabeth Doyle. First run for respected connections, seems to be improving and looks sure to attract support.

Experienced turf and AW campaigner on the Flat and has shown some ability in novice hurdles at Wincanton and Towcester. Needs to step up on those efforts to be a factor, but with only two starts over timber under his belt he is open to improvement.

Won four AW and one turf race for Simon Crisford before joining Jamie Osborne, for whom he was unable to add to those successes. Runs for another new trainer so it will be interesting to see how he fares on his debut run over hurdles.
Point-to-point winner who made his debut in a Worcester novice hurdle and could finish only sixth of eight, beaten 36L. He should come on for the experience, but others make more appeal.

Won a point-to-point in April, last year, but has shown little in a bumper and maiden hurdle for his current stable. Hard to make a case for on those efforts.
A lightly-raced maiden on the Flat for Sir Michael Stoute, he made his hurdling debut for his new yard in a fair novice hurdle at Kempton. He showed up well for a long way before fading to finish fourth of 11 and normal improvement from that should see him go close in a weaker race. Tongue tied for the first time.
A moderate maiden on the Flat for Ismail Mohammed, he took a keen hold and was ultimately beaten a long way when fifth of eight on his hurdling bow at Wincanton in March. Need to settle better if he is to make an impact at this game.

Showed little in maiden hurdles at Thurles and Fairyhouse in the spring, so it is interesting to see her travel across the Irish Sea for this. Wears a tongue tie for the first time and is well worth a check in the market.

Twice an AW flat winner at around a mile for Marco Botti, but showed little aptitude for this game when a distant last of three on his hurdling bow at Chepstow. That was his first start for current connections, who will be hoping for a better jumping display.

Forecasts

Delface (6/4), Sir George Somers (5/2), Gang Warfare (6/1), Captain George (8/1), Thahab Ifraj (12/1), He Is Rosy (14/1), Alys Keys (16/1), Sahalin (40/1), Telmadela (50/1)

Verdict

Irish import Delface looks sure to attract plenty of support on his debut for powerful connections and any strength in the market would be significant. However, SIR GEORGE SUMMERS, a lightly-raced maiden on the Flat for a top stable, ran well on his hurdling debut at Kempton, has the scope to improve and represents a yard which does well at this track. Captain George looks best of the rest, although Alys Keys is worth noting in the betting market.
  1. Sir George Somers
  2. Delface
  3. Captain George
