Beat a professional loser at Plumpton but not disgraced under his penalty next time. Their is little depth in this and another bold display from the front is envisaged.

Bought for £20,000 at the John Ferguson dispersal sale in April 2016. Had some very good bumper form but has clearly had issues since and market check advised following an absence of 21 months.
Largely disappointing in bumpers and sole start over hurdles. Needs to improve his jumping and hard to fancy despite the yard going well with a 25 percent strike rate in the past fortnight.

Son of Network purchased for £8,000 in January. Half-brother to Listed winning hurdler Onnix. Last of five in a Ffos Las bumper on debut but was not totally unfancied that day. May have more to offer but he remains speculative until revealing more.

Came to hand at this point last season winning bumpers here and at Aintree. Three runs over hurdles have come at longer trips and in better company. Champion jockey has scored on him previously and the partnership are leading players in a race as weak as this.

Well beaten in both starts over hurdles. Pedigree suggests he will come into his own over further and hard to fancy unless there is a significant market move that suggests improvement is expected. Yard took this in 2013.

Has only had three runs since landing a point-to-point three years ago. Has been well beaten on both starts this year and hard to envisage him improving enough.
No impact in bumpers or in three starts over hurdles for Martin Keighley, going off at long odds on each occasion. Glimmers of improvement on reappearance for new yard when mid-division behind Billy Hicks at Ludlow but still hard to get excited about.

Showed little in three point-to-points and on hurdling debut. Has no obvious chance unless settling better over this shorter trip.

Forecasts

Gustave Mahler (11/8), Adrrastos (7/4), Amirr (6/1), Billy Elliott (12/1), Padawan (22/1), Sugar Mix (25/1), Kings Temptation (33/1), Chatelier (40/1), Better News (50/1)

Verdict

Amirr boasted some useful bumper form for John Ferguson and he would be an obvious candidate if ready for his first start in almost two years. Addrastos has picked up a penalty for beating the disappointing Bardd at Plumpton. He probably achieved more at Newton Abbot last time and this is potentially less competitive. Nevertheless, Gustave Mahler receives a useful 7lb from him and that may just tilt things in his favour. He was above average in bumpers last summer and it looks significant that the champion jockey is back on board.
  1. Gustave Mahler
  2. Adrrastos
  3. Amirr
