Kodiac colt, cost €110,000 as a yearling and half-brother to a couple of sprint winners. Justified favouritism when he won on firm ground at Bath on debut and looked like he would come on for that effort so has to be of interest once again.
Dark Angel colt, cost £165,000 as a yearling and his dam was a 5f juvenile winner. Too green to do himself justice on debut but much better at Ascot last time with a dominant win. Sure to keep on getting better but yard have been a little quiet in recent weeks.
Dawn Approach colt, cost 85,000 gns as a yearling. Nice debut effort at Leicester but didn't really follow that up at Ascot last time. Likely to want further than this and widest draw not ideal at this track.
Havana Gold colt, cost €70,000 as a yearling and his dam won at 5f at two. Scored at Ayr last time with any amount in hand but this looks a far tougher contest and he won't get away with over-racing in the early stages in this contest. Another who should go well, particularly with the rail to help him.
Exceed And Excel colt whose pedigree suggests he would want a little further than this but the trip proved no hindrance on debut when winning with a little more in hand than the official margin suggests. Runner-up has come out and won again since and yard couldn't be in better form.
One would be hard pushed to find a more competitive looking 5f five-runner sprint throughout the rest of the summer but the narrow preference goes to HAVANA GREY who won with plenty in hand last time out. The form of Sound And Silence's win has been franked since while Chagatal looked like he would improve for his debut effort.
