Not raced on the Flat since September 2016 (AW), and on turf on the Flat for over 12 months. A thirteen race maiden who has raced over hurdles (poorly) all winter and therefore tough to imagine in the placings.
Five starts in Ireland last year resulted in little in the way of positive signs. However, did fill the frame at Killarney in July 2016 (100/1), but yet to race over this short a trip and off since September 2016.
Cheek-pieces added to the hood, so unlikely to have much idea as to what's going on around her. Did have a couple of pieces of placed form for Martyn Meade, but this trainer is usually effective with others cast-offs, but yet to find the answer with her in two attempts so far on Tapeta.
Beaten approximately 6L by the useful filly Panova at Newcastle in October 2016 (6F) and shaped as if a step up in trip would suit. Off for the winter and upped in trip on return at Beverley this month, but failed to make any further progress for a switch to handicap company.
Headed and no extra the last 50 yards when 1L second to Swallow Street at Redcar in October 2016 (6F good to firm) was the pick of his juvenile starts. Poor showing when sent off 4/1f for his return to the Teesside track in April (handicap) and others more convincing overall.
Beaten narrowly here over 6F by Traveltalk in October 2016, and ran his best race since from a poor draw at Thirsk last week when fourth to Scofflaw. Stamina to prove having never raced beyond 6F.
Regressed for Tom Dascombe, but was claimed after finishing second over 5F at this track in July 2016. No major improvement so far despite three starts for these shrewd connections (albeit a glimmer at Ripon latest), but his time should come in low grade handicaps.
A 2L second to Rutherford over 7F on Tapeta at Newcastle in March is the pick of her four career starts, but she was a well held fourth behind The Sky Is Blazing (Fortuities third; and beaten at Newcastle on Tuesday) latest. This looks weaker for her turf debut but might once more find one or two stronger.
Little signs of much ability in five starts to date (last two runs in handicaps), and now is rated 58. Others with more obvious claims in a maiden.
Cost £52,000 as a yearling, but hadn't appeared all that flash until upped to 7F for her seventh career start at Wolverhampton in late November. She got to within ½L of the punted outsider winner Viola Park. A surprise she's been off since but respected on her first try at this trip on turf.
Had some consistent form in maidens as a juvenile (neck second to Alcazar at Newcastle in June 2016) and remained solid if unspectacular switched to handicaps at that track in the winter months. Ran well enough at Beverley latest and clear signs this is his trip (has raced plenty over further).
Off since a below par effort at Pontefract in October (1m2f) and drops back in trip for her return to action. Nothing wrong with either of her placed efforts over similar trips, but others likely to have fitness edge.

Cupid's Arrow (7/2), Eadaoins Pet (4/1), Halinka (13/2), Major Cornwallis (13/2), Prazeres (7/1), Dusky Maid (8/1), Decadent Times (9/1), Langham (12/1), Sheepscar Lad (12/1), Chickenfortea (14/1), Bearag (22/1), Bonnie Gals (25/1), Mayleen (33/1), Greenview Paradise (40/1), Daring Knight (125/1)
More like a low grade handicap than a maiden, and in truth little makes any significant appeal. Halinka produced a career best when upped to 7F at Wolverhampton in November, and whilst it's a worry that she has been off the track since, she appears one of the more likelier types. Dusky Maid has a couple of pieces of Newcastle form which read well enough in the context of this race, and she makes her turf debut, but the selection is the Ruth Carr trained CUPID'S ARROW. He's yet to race over this trip, but ran well at Thirsk recently, and has shown his effectiveness at this track previously when narrowly denied over 6F by Traveltalk.

- Dusky Maid
