Finally off the mark in a maiden hurdle two starts back at Clonmel (2m, soft to heavy) but struggled in a deeper contest at Limerick (2m3f, soft) last time.
Has two wins from 15 starts over timber, returns here from 205-day layoff having fallen over C&D when last spotted. 4lb above previous win mark, could have a say in this if ready to roll.
Credible efforts over timber in three starts to date, switches from maidens into handicaps while down in trip. There could be improvement coming and one to note in the betting.
Kayf Tara mare scored a maiden hurdle win at Cork in August over 2m3f, but has been very well beaten in three handicap outings since. Some improvement over 2m5f at Punchestown last month, but needs a bit more.
Went close in 2m5f handicap hurdle at Tramore last month off this mark and has since run a couple of decent races on the Flat, looks well equipped for a challenge in this field.
Maiden after ten starts, seven over hurdles, but has been showing better form of late and was in with a chance of mounting a challenge over this trip at Tipperary 13 days ago when clipping heels and coming down. Was backed for that contest too.
The mare is a six-race maiden and but she ran her best race over timber to date when third of 13, beaten 5L, in 2m4f good ground handicap hurdle at Cork recently. Raised 1lb but can be involved in ready to build on that showing.
Well beaten off on handicap hurdle debut at Limerick over Christmas (2m, heavy) and hasn't been seen since. 3lb lower now but previous maiden efforts don't offer much encouragement.
It has been mostly a struggle in four starts over hurdles, including last month's handicap bow over 2m (soft, yielding in places) at this track when beaten 18ÂľL. Hard to fancy just now.
Career-best when ½L second in 20-runner 3m handicap at Cork (good) earlier this month. Drops in trip here but can hold fair claims with a repeat of that run.
Winner of a mares' maiden point-to-point in December, though has plenty work to do on four runs over hurdles including recent handicap bow at Downpatrick (2m1f, good to firm) when beaten 22L into eight of 11.
One of her better efforts came in 3m good ground handicap hurdle here last July when second of 14. Had also run well this trip at Cork previous when 1L third of 19. Returns from a break now but is weighted to have a decent chance.
Remains a maiden after 11 starts over timber but pleasing signs last month in two runs over 2m. Goes up in trip now and could mount a challenge.
Unplaced in ten starts over timber, two runs this year at Fairyhouse (2m4f, yielding to soft) and Clonmel (2m½f, soft) have been poor and hard to fancy in this first start for 111 days.
Forecasts
Platinum Empress (9/2), Delayed Eloquence (11/2), Just Janice (6/1), Robyns Approach (6/1), Glendine River (8/1), Pyrford Pippin (11/1), Lockeen Girl (12/1), Undefined Beauty (14/1), Kiln Rock (16/1), Jet Mistress (16/1), Strike Is Back (20/1), Hurry Kitty (20/1), Ballytier Princess (25/1), Ayelya (25/1)
PYRFORD PIPPIN have a much-improved performance at Cork last time to be runner-up over 3m and could now play a big hand in this over a reduced a trip if able to repeat or improve on that. Robyns Approach also went well in two runs last month and might have more to offer while Jet Mistress has gone well at this track before and is weighed to repeat it returning from a layoff. Delayed Eloquence was unlucky at Tipperary last time to come down and is much respected bidding for compensation.
- Pyrford Pippin
- Delayed Eloquence
- Robyns Approach
