Fair Mix gelding who is related to several winners and though much of the success of the family has come both over further and over fences, he makes more appeal than some of the others on offer on pedigree.
Ran well on debut at Perth in April when looking like the sort who may improve for the run. Needs to step up a gear now but that is perfectly possible.

Finished a well-beaten fifth on debut over C&D in March, and looked to lack the necessary class to get involved in a contest such as this.

Disappointing last time when sent off favourite in a similar contest at Warwick, but dropped away as if something was amiss and was overcoming a long break. Could do better if overcoming that performance now with the benefit of a run.

Didn't show much on debut at Sedgefield earlier in the month when sent off at 7/2, and on that basis it seems like better can be expected at some point, perhaps while still in bumpers.

Bought for ÂŁ3,500 as a three-year-old, related to a winner and other placers on the Flat, so interesting to see him started off in a bumper. Probably best watched on this debut.
Little to go on in terms of pedigree, though many of his family, especially on the dam's side, ran in point to points, suggesting he may do better over further in time. Others hold more convincing claims.

Well beaten in a Newcastle bumper in December and needs to show something else here in order to get involved, having been beaten a long way from home that day.

Forecasts

Hello Bertie (6/5), Whoshotwho (11/4), Leodis (7/1), Fairmount (8/1), Samson The Man (11/1), Legende Volante (12/1), Haasab (16/1), War Joey (28/1), Bowler Bill (33/1)

Verdict

This is an open looking bumper where it's difficult to select a winner with confidence. The tentative suggestion is HELLO BERTIE, who ran well at Perth last month and could easily come on for that. He is preferred to Whoshotwho, who is clearly well regarded given the price he was sent off last time, while Legende Volante is an interesting newcomer.
  1. Hello Bertie
  2. Whoshotwho
  3. Legende Volante
