Cost ÂŁ50,000 as a yearling and is bred to be effective at sprint distances. Made moderate progress in three maidens but doesn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary. Hood applied for this handicap debut suggests he may need his mind making up for him.
Drops to the minimum trip for the first time but is bred to appreciate the distance so may be suited by the move. Likes to make the running, so would be dangerous to underestimate.
Took a long time to get over a gelding operation and didn't make much progress during a light campaign last year. Recent return to action also left a little to be desired. Others preferred.
Dropping to a handy mark but has been out of form for a while now and, given that he was well beaten on his last attempt over C&D, he has a lot to prove. Considering that he is 6lb lower than his last winning mark and has the assistance of a lad claiming 7lb, he will have very few excuses if he cannot exploit a decent draw tonight.
Exploited a 12lb lower mark to score on turf at Bath last time out, so respected as one that arrives here in good heart. Equally as effective on the AW, but has never won two consecutive races during his 79-race career, so a little has to be taken on trust. But given that his yard won this last year, a bold attempt can still be expected.
Respected on the pick of his efforts and capable of making the rest aware of his presence on these terms. Does have a bit to find with Compton Prince from the last time they encountered each other though.
Won from a 5lb higher mark at Wolverhampton in December but her form has dipped markedly since then. Now has something to prove and, as she hasn't beaten a single horse home in her last three starts, she looks opposable just now.
Well handicapped at present and the recent switch in yards seems to have rekindled his interest. Worth a check in the betting but has never won on any of the AW surfaces.
Enjoyed a profitable spell last season and is respected on the pick of her form. Further encouragement to be taken from her seasonal return when fifth of fourteen at Windsor last month. Place claims is she can built on that effort.
Well treated just now and, as he finished just ahead of Compton Prince last time out, he would be a big threat if it could be guaranteed he would put in a similar stint tonight. However, his overall profile does suggest he isn't one to trust without reservation and makes limited appeal for win only purposes.
Dropped to a handy mark but has been in the doldrums lately. May also be better on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton and others make a tad more appeal.

COMPTON PRINCE is in good heart just now and, having been buoyed by winning on turf last time out, may still have a little left to offer now he switched back the Polytrack. He has a C&D win to his name from a 1lb lower mark, so the portents look good. Also notable that he represents a yard which won this corresponding race last year. Generalyse doesn't have too much to find if he consents to stride out for his 7lb claimer, who got a good tune out of the gelding last time out, so the partnership shouldn't be underestimated. Deeds Not Words is yet to win on an artificial surface but is another that won't need to dig too deep too break the hoodoo. Noble Deed may be the best of the rest, while there could also be some value in considering Forever Yours capable of making the frame.
