Reeled off a hat-trick of wins before running inexplicably badly and pulling up at Market Rasen last time. Had shot up the weights before that run and has the same handicap mark so he has questions to answer.
Makes his first appearance since being well beaten at Huntingdon at the end of October so he may need the run. That said, he is well handicapped off a a mark 2lb lower than when last successful at Newton Abbot in April, last year.
Has not finished out of the first four in his last 11 starts, but cannot seem to get his head in front. Runner-up off this mark at Worcester last time and Richard Johnson rides again in a bid to find the key.
He has run well on his three outings for his current stable, winning the last of them by a short head at Worcester recently. Has gone up only 1lb for that success and, given his obvious well being at present, he rates a major contender.
Seemed to relish the faster surface when second on his second chase outing at Exeter last month. If building on that display, he would have serious claims, but the return to a softer surface tempers enthusiasm.
Has not really fired since joining his current stable, but is down to a handicap mark 2lb lower than when last successful at Wincanton in November. Needs to show more before he becomes a betting proposition.
Five-times winner over fences, but recent efforts seem to indicate his advancing years are catching up with him. Pulled up in Lined With Silver's race at Worcester, but collided with a rival while jumping so there were mitigating circumstances.
Was never involved at the business end when falling two fences from home on his chasing debut at Newton Abbot last month. His form over hurdles was moderate, too, but he is only young and may yet improve.
Pulled up on his last three starts, the latest of which was in December. Might be better for his break, but the evidence suggests that his age has caught up with him. 3lb out of the handicap.
One of his better efforts when third at this track last time, but races from 12lb out of the handicap and is hard to fancy.

Not many of these are in peak form, but one who has been running consistently well is LINED WITH SILVER. He has only 1lb more to carry than when successful at Worcester last time and this race might not take a great deal of winning. Bally Lagan needs to bounce back from a bad run last time, but has a chance if doing so despite his hike up the weights, while Pembroke House usually runs his race and has a chance again, and Edlomond and Triggywinkle are weighted to make their presence felt.
