Acclamation colt, cost 300,000 gns as a yearling. Justified favouritism on debut at Chelmsford last week and yard won this last year for these owners with subsequent two-time Group 2 winner Mehmas. Yard's juveniles have been particularly forward this year and he may come on for his debut so plenty to like.

Poet's Voice colt related to several smart winners including Grade 2 US winner Tam Lim. Likely to want further than this given time but beautifully bred and effort at Newmarket on debut was promising.

Kodiac colt, cost £65,000 as a yearling. Yard's juveniles been going well this season and he justified favouritism to win on his debut. Time of that effort was respectable and he was denied a clear run at a crucial stage so the win can be upgraded somewhat and he may prefer the rain softened conditions more than some in here. The one to beat.
Still a maiden after three starts but best effort came on good to soft ground on debut so may enjoy conditions here. He's more exposed than the rest of this field though and yard have been out of form; others preferred.

Epaulette colt, cost 24,000 gns as a foal and 45,000 gns as a yearling. Yard's debutantes have been in excellent form this year and dam has plenty of speed on her side of the pedigree so worth consideration if the market speaks in his favour. Yard won this last year.
Winner of her latest two starts and defied a penalty to win last time out at Ripon. Standard of form likely to be a little below what is required in this contest though.

Forecasts

Verdict

KODITIME's debut was a taking effort and the yard have a good strike-rate with their juveniles this campaign. Denaar represents last year's winning connections and they are likely to have sent one of their better juveniles to this race. Kit Marlowe makes up the shortlist but he may want a little further than this given time.
  1. Koditime
  2. Denaar
  3. Kit Marlowe
