Made the frame in each of his six starts to date. Finished ¾L behind Belgravia over 1m4f at Leopardstown (good-to-firm) last time out and likely to prove hard to beat in a first time tongue tie here.

Slowly away when beaten 15L on his debut over an extended 1m at Cork (good-to-yielding) last month. Breeding suggests he should appreciate this step up in trip.

Slowly away when finishing one place ahead of Haroon when making his debut over an extended 1m at Cork (good-to-yielding) last month. Probably best watched here.

Finished runner-up on debut over an extended 1m2f at Dundalk in March. Disappointed when only sixth over an extended 1m3f at Limerick (good-to-firm) subsequently but not written off just yet.
Missed the break and short of room at a crucial point prior to finishing a 10L eighth when making his debut over 1m at Leopardstown (yielding) in October. Shaped as if this step up in trip would suit on that occasion and worth a check in the market here.

Ran well to finish fourth beaten 1¼L when making his debut over 1m at Dundalk last week. Shaped as if this step up in trip would suit on that occasion and an interesting runner on his turf debut.

Well held on debut at Leopardstown last October but shaped better on his first run since being gelded when finishing sixth at Cork (good-to-yielding) over an extended 1m last month. Probably best watched here however.

Urnaced gelded son of Duke Of Marmalade. Dam an unraced half-sister to a couple of useful horses including the Listed-placed Cest Notre Gris and wears a tongue tie on debut today.

Forecasts

Clongowes (9/10), Spanish Steps (3/1), Twin Star (6/1), Spiral Galaxy (7/1), Peace Maker (12/1), Haroon (16/1), Mauricio (20/1), Wooster (20/1), Social Bandit (20/1), Stay With Me (20/1), Ilikehim (50/1), Alfred Wegener (66/1)

Verdict

CLONGOWES has the best form on offer in this contest and can get off the mark at the seventh time of asking dropping 2f in trip today. Jim Bolger's charged chased home Belgravia (runs in the previous race on this card) at Leopardstown earlier this month and can defeat Spiral Galaxy who shaped as if a step up in trip would suit when finishing fourth over 1m at Dundalk last week. Of the remainder Spanish Steps ran a better race than appears to be the case having been short of room at a crucial point on debut at Leopardstown in October and he can take third in this.
  1. Clongowes
  2. Spiral Galaxy
  3. Spanish Steps
