A half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser Apt Approach, comes here on the back of a maiden point-to-point win at second attempt last month.
From a small yard with just one winner to date from limited resources, inexpensive purchase makes first start and will be a big surprise if it's a winning one. Likely to come on for the run.

6/1
Half-brother to 3 winners, comes to the racetrack for the first time and already has winning form in point-to-point sphere, worth noting in the betting.

Boasts winning point-to-point form already, wears tongue strap on racecourse bow and may be better suited with further emphasis on stamina.

Cost €18,000 as a 3yo, unable to get off the mark so far in point-to-points and might be best watched on track debut unless market suggests different.
Won maiden on fourth start in point-to-point last time out, represents the excellent Skelton team on rules debut and is one of the more likely types in this, particularly if the vibes are good.

Cost €37,000 as a 3yo and is expected to do well under rules, has won two point-to-points but also come a cropper in three. Likely to give this a fair crack on rules bow.
Trainer doesn't have many bumper runners, this just a third, and this one looks best watched having finished well beaten in a point-to-point last time out.
Made some money at the sales as a 3yo, was runner-up in point-to-point recently having been pulled up previously. May improve for this appearance but worth nothing in the betting regardless.
Had twice unseated the rider in point-to-points before winning last time out, probably has a small role to play on this first racecourse start but cannot be written off.

Forecasts

Roll Of The Dice (3/1), Station Master (4/1), Aptly Put (4/1), Dunraven Doc (6/1), Dusty Pearl (9/1), Taking The Mickey (10/1), Pistol Shoot (14/1), Draft Pick (16/1), Culverwell (25/1), King's Walden (28/1)

Verdict

With no racecourse form to go on, this may prove a race in which the market is most informative. A chance is taken with ROLE OF THE DICE, for the Skelton team, after he got off the mark last time in a point-to-point. He's sure to know his business now. Draft Pick and Station Master looks others to consider along with Dunraven Doc.
  1. Roll Of The Dice
  2. Station Master
  3. Draft Pick
