Travelled with little enthusiasm at Haydock (2m4f, good, good-to-soft in places) last month when saddled with 6lb hike for previous win at Fontwell over 2m5f. Gets 1lb back now and hard to assess on that poor run last time.

Frontrunner not seen since November when folding tamely in pursuit of handicap chase hat-trick over 2m4f on good ground at Newbury. Has gone well fresh in the past and could be dangerous if getting the run of the race on return.

Comes back from a layoff and we haven't really seen the best of him for a while. Hasn't won over fences since August 2014 and appears to be high enough in the handicap for now.

Poor when last spotted at Huntingdon in November over shorter trip, won three times over this sort of trip last season but has gone up the weights since and may be best watched on return to action.

In good form last summer with two chase wins from marks of 115 and 118. Trip and ground no problem for him and should be competitive despite being exposed.

Mixed signals in two starts last month from the veteran and hard to be confident now, losing run extends back to 2014 and remains 3lb higher in the handicap that last winning mark currently.

Reappearance at Wincanton last month was decidedly poor, last of four beaten 53L over 2m4f on good-to-firm ground. Has more questions than answers at the moment it seems.

Registered his first success for this yard when winning off a 9lb lower mark at Ffos Las over an extended 2m3f (good) a month ago. Has the same conditional jockey in the saddle here and an interesting runner in this having scored nicely in that contest.

Forecasts

Baileys Concerto (7/2), Degooch (4/1), Kingston (4/1), Gowanauthat (4/1), Easy Street (9/2), Definite Future (17/2), Forever My Friend (10/1), Ashcott Boy (12/1), Falcarragh (20/1)

Verdict

KINGSTON got off the mark for this stable last month at Ffos Las in decent fashion and while's he up in class and 9lb higher in the ratings, there was plenty to like about how he went about the job then and he might be capable of going close again. Gowanauthat will be competitive if repeating his Fontwell run while Degooch is liable to give his running once more despite looking a bit exposed currently. The pace may be set by Forever My Friend, who ranks as a danger if getting a handy time of things up front.
  1. Kingston
  2. Forever My Friend
  3. Degooch
