Progressive over fences at one stage in his career he's failed to complete in three of his last four chase outings (let down by his jumping). Now back over hurdles with a tongue-tie on for the first time and lower in the weights
Another one who has been chasing and had his problems with his jumping although he did show some better form last time out over the larger obstacles. Suited by that way the race developed (needs a good pace to run at) and now back over hurdles off his lower mark in that sphere.
Form starting to look modest at best despite the placed efforts on the last two start with the efforts looking rather laboured.
Moving round the yards quickly having already run for two previous yards and makes his debut for a third here. Not the most consistent and this mark of 111 looks a testing one.
Starts life for a new yard have previously been with David Loder and scored for him over hurdles at Carlisle in October off a 6lb lower mark. Well backed in two subsequent outings but has disappointed on both with the handicapper not keen to drop him.
Winner of this race last year off a mark of 115 (110 this year) this is one horse in this race that knows his way around here having won three times over C&D. Looked to have needed his run last time out returning from a break but not quite in the same form as last year.
Showed a really good attitude to win at Ludlow last time out (looked well beaten at one stage) following up her Wetherby win. Given the way she ran at Ludlow this longer trip should suit and she may well be picking up late again.
Gets a 7lb rise for his last win over C&D last time out getting off the mark after recording some solid placed efforts. Should remain competitive here with the yard looking in better form of late.
A C&D winner in September off a 10lb lower mark she was showing up well on her return from a break when falling last time out. Looked as though she had returned in decent form on that occasion and if she stays upright here could get involved.
Had formerly looked a very difficult ride when with Brian Ellison but has been more tractable of late for this yard although he did end the season in poor fashion. Runs off a lower hurdles mark here but his overall profile means others are preferred.
C&D winner in July but form rather tailed off after that and would need to show more here although the jockey booking does take the eye.
Forecasts
Western Wave (9/4), Jester Jet (4/1), Late Date (4/1), Jet Master (9/1), Dubai Devils (11/1), Johnny Go (16/1), Maraweh (20/1), This Thyne Jude (25/1), Un Noble (25/1), Presented (28/1), Justatenner (40/1)
There are few Perth specialists in this with four C&D winners on show the best of which is likely to be the most recent Late Date who bids to follow-up here off a 7lb higher mark. Both Un Noble and Jet Master return to hurdles here off lower marks and enter the equation with Western Wave interesting on his first run for the Tom George yard. JESTER JET looks a mare who is improving and could well be suited by this longer trip as she bids for her hat-trick.
- Jester Jet
- Late Date
