Profile is rather up-and-down although he did win here over 3m in September but hasn't really impressed since then and ran poorly last time out.
The drop in class could be the catalyst to an improved performance over fences off the back of a decent effort last time out behind two useful types in this sphere. Now off a mark of a 100 a repeat of that run will see him go close here.
Not seen since scoring an out of the blue win a year ago over a longer trip here off a mark of 93. Not seen since that win he runs off a 7lb higher mark here bit could figure if his fitness is not in question for his return.
Starts life for a new yard (previously with Ben Case) after a break having been placed a couple of times over fences. Has shaped well over fences and no forlorn hope here for one who could be better than he's shown so far over fences.
Getting on in year's now and has been capable in the past with him being the only C&D winner in this field. Not shown much of late though and others expected to perform better here.
Showed her best form when trained by Victor Dartnell but shown very little for this yard and has looked a little temperamental.
His career record 0/25 probably tells the story and he's looked even more limited and unenthusiastic of late.
The saving grace is that this is a weak race as his form over fences is pretty poor overall and his attitude means he's best treated with caution.
Has flattered to deceive on more than one occasion but finds little at the business end of races usually finishing weakly. Another one to treat with caution although he'll probably move into the race with a chance at some point.
Forecasts
Ryalex (2/1), Crinkle Crags (9/2), Jackofhearts (11/2), Resolute Reformer (7/1), Mollies Gent (9/1), Trouble In Paris (10/1), Sergeant Pink (16/1), Jewellery (25/1), Vesuvhill (25/1)
Given the paucity of solid chasing form RYALEX taking drop in grade is presented with a good chance of breaking his chasing duck. Outside of him there are few solid options and that may give Resolute Performer a chance off a break with Mollies Gent’s course form giving him a squeak. The others are a rag tag bunch although at what could be a big price Vesuvhill is interesting based on some of his chase form where he looked a bit better than his final placing suggests.
- Ryalex
- Resolute Reformer
- Vesuvhill
