Was beginning to look a little frustrating until finally opening his account at the 11th attempt over 6f at Thirsk (good) last month, making all. Obvious chance to follow up in this grade if in the same mood.
Inconsistent maiden who showed up well on occasions last season but has looked off the pace in two 6f handicaps on turf so far this year. Class drop will help but likely to find at least one too good.
Totally unfancied for her debut over 5f at Nottingham 11 months ago and struggled badly after a slow start. Not sighted since, so surely best watched here.
Toiled badly at long odds in each of her first five starts and, though a first-time visor sparked a flicker of improvement at Musselburgh last time, she is still very easy to oppose today.
Good enough to win a York seller on her third start as a juvenile but has steadily gone backwards since that success and struggled on her reappearance at Ripon. Hopes pinned on first-time cheekpieces reviving her.
Struggled to make much of an impact for the respected David O'Meara yard last season and showed next to nothing on her debut for this yard at Thirsk last month. Hard to get excited about.
Barely beat an opponent home in three maidens as a juvenile start last season, going off at 100/1 in the latter. Sights lowered on her return with cheekpieces introduced. Big improvement still needed.
Showed more than enough in her early starts to suggest she could win a race but flopped when odds-on for a claimer over C&D in September. Struggled behind Twizzell on her reappearance over C&D (good to firm) but dropped markedly in grade. Big chance.
Forecasts
Mr Strutter (11/10), Whigwham (11/4), Vaux (9/2), Melaniemillie (11/2), Tess Graham (28/1), Digital Revolution (40/1), Precious Skye (40/1), Henrietta's Dream (100/1)
Mr Strutter finally came good to win a better event at Thirsk last time and a repeat effort would make him tough to beat despite top-weight. Whigwham is the clear main danger on balance but it may pay to take a chance on first-time cheekpieces reviving MELANIEMILLIE who was good enough to win a much stronger seller at York around this time last year.
- Melaniemillie
- Mr Strutter
- Whigwham
