From a stable that are going well at the moment this one showed improved hurdles for to get off the mark in a weak maiden at Chepstow. Would have looked vulnerable under a penalty and makes his handicap debut here off a mark that may test him.

Won after an 18-month hiatus over C&D last time out taking advantage of a drop in the weights. Not the most obvious type to win again taking a slight rise in class of a 4lb higher mark

Likes to get on with things from the front and has won two hurdles when ridden in aggressive fashion the last of them a Taunton handicap off 108. Both wins have been gained on less testing tracks than he faces today and he might struggle again off a mark like this back from a break.

May well be not the mist straightforward of individuals but hasn't run badly in a visor on his last two starts. Mark remains the same as he ran off last time and could well get in the mix here.

The jockey booking certainly catches the eye (rider rode a well-backed winner for the stable last week). Has looked in better form of late and took advantage of a falling mark to score last time out at Wincanton from a moderate bunch but faces nothing stronger here.

One of two runners in race for the stable with this one looking the second choice on jockey bookings. Looked to come back to form last year (allowed to dominate) but that resurgence did ebb away and hard to know what to expect now back from a break.

Form appears to be tailing off as the yard goes off the boil and ran poorly last time out in the back of a failed chasing attempt.

C&D winner in a claiming hurdle back in 2014 not disgraced on his return from a break last time out in a small field handicap. This run should reveal more and allow us to know where we are with him.

Forecasts

Boy In A Bentley (2/1), Mighty Missile (10/3), Honey Pound (9/2), While You Wait (7/1), Burrenbridge Hotel (9/1), Jazzy (12/1), Miracle Cure (12/1), My Brother Sylvest (28/1)

Verdict

Not a great deal of strength in depth in this opening handicap hurdle with MIGHTY MISSILE one of the more obvious contenders after his tenacious Wincanton win. Honey Pound needs to be respected coming back to the scene of his C&D win off just a 4lb higher mark that should be within his scope. The others are harder to be positive about although Boy In A Bentley and Jazzy are two others that have a chance here in what is basically a weak race.
  1. Mighty Missile
  2. Honey Pound
  3. Boy In A Bentley
