Winner of a point-to-point at Kinsale on soft ground in June 2012 but had just three outings since. Unraced since finishing 8¼L third in a point-to-point at Eyton-On-Severn in May 2013 and probably best watched here.

Finished runner-up in a point-to-point 12 months ago and filled the same position on hurdling debut at Doncaster over an extended 2m3f on good ground in December. Likely to play a leading role in this.
Placed in two bumpers prior to winning a maiden event at Towcester on good ground in November. Well beaten in first time cheekpieces (retained here) in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in March and makes his hurdling debut today.
Placed three times in bumpers including on the AW at Doncaster in February. Well held on hurdling debut at Ascot last month and will need to step up on that effort if he's to take this.

Well beaten in two bumpers and a novice hurdle in 2016 when with Charlie Longsdon. Probably best watched on her debut for a new stable today.

Forecasts

Monkey Puzzle (9/4), Robin The Raven (5/2), Take To Heart (4/1), Fixed Rate (4/1), Crucial Role (12/1), Mole Trap (50/1), Fernando (100/1)

Verdict

MONKEY PUZZLE has finished runner-up on both of his starts to date including on his rules debut at Doncaster last time out. The selection looks likely to appreciate this step up in trip based on his point-to-point debut in a decent looking event 12 months ago and he can see off bumper winners Robin The Raven who finished well beaten in a Grade 1 contest at Cheltenham last time out and Take To Heart who can step up on his hurdling debut by claiming third in this.
  1. Monkey Puzzle
  2. Robin The Raven
  3. Take To Heart
