Winner by 1L over 2m at Huntingdon (soft) in early March and finished runner-up the last twice including off a mark of 126 at Ayr on good-to-soft ground last time out. Likely to prove hard to beat here for an in form yard (10/27).

Signs of promise in two bumpers at Towcester in the autumn but well beaten at big prices on each of his three hurdles outings to date including when 23L sixth here last time out and more needed in this.

Well beaten in six outings on the Flat including off a mark of 55 at Wolverhampton in November and pulled up on hurdling debut at Huntingdon last month. Wears a hood for the first time today.
Placed three times from 12 starts on the Flat but well beaten in two novice hurdles so far. Latest of those came when 54L sixth at Ffos Las (good) last month and appears to have plenty on her plate in this.

Forecasts

Azzuri (2/9), Otter Moon (3/1), Enola Gay (13/2), Tara's Rainbow (16/1), Luca Brazi (16/1), All Dolled Up (33/1), Gift From God (33/1), Farrah's Choice (100/1)

Verdict

AZZURI can register a second win over hurdles following a couple of decent second place finishes by claiming this opening contest for his in form yard. The selection broke his hurdling maiden at Huntingdon in March and can get the better of Enola Gay who disappointed slightly on his debut for this yard but had some solid form in France prior to that while Otter Moon's latest effort would put him in contention for the places in this.
  1. Azzuri
  2. Enola Gay
  3. Otter Moon
