Stepped up a little on previous form when holding off Polymath at Downpatrick last week, the step up in trip seemingly helping his cause. Made hard work of that and needs to find a bit more here, but is in form and handles conditions fine.
The way he won on his latest start here at Kilbeggan suggests stamina may be his long suit (went for home early, found plenty for pressure) but that form probably needs improving on if he's to challenge for top honours here. Handles good ground fine.
Half-brother to the useful Port Melon (who stayed 3m) and made a successful comeback after an eight month break when successful (over 2m) at Tipperary recently. Should come on for that and this step up in trip promises to bring out more.
Clearly came on for his debut experience at Clonmel in March when successful in 2m4f bumper here at Kilbeggan next time, despite showing signs of greenness. Plenty more to come and trip likely to suit, but asking a lot on hurdles debut today.
Forecasts
Robin Des Foret (4/7), Hidden Charmer (5/2), Fly Rory Fly (7/1), Lambs Lane (16/1)
ROBIN DES FORET looks the one to beat, with the step up in trip likely to suit. He can have the measure of Hidden Charmer , another for whom stamina trips should bring out some improvement and Fly Rory Fly.
