Often placed on the Flat but a poor strike rate (just 1-32) and only hurdles run resulted in him finishing well beaten (although heavy ground a possible excuse). Looks one for handicaps and too much on his plate here.

Placed three times recently and nothing wrong with his second to Robin Des Foret (runs later on the card) at Tipperary last time. On the negative side, has been beaten twice at short prices now, and not one for the mortgage, but this looks another good opportunity to score.

Lightly raced maiden on the Flat but in decent form recently, posting two respectable efforts on last couple of starts. Quick ground will suit, but looks one for handicaps further down the line. Best watched on hurdles debut today.

Getting the hang of things over hurdles, with steady improvement on each start, and recent second at Tramore reads well enough (had Leomar back in fourth). No reason not to go well again with conditions to suit, and should be on the premises.

Not shown too much in five starts for the yard so far, and needs this for a handicap mark, but fifth at Gowran last November not a terrible effort and may yet do better. Gets a tongue-tie for the first time here. Others preferred today.

Pedigree reads well enough and ought to have a future at the game, and as the yard had a debut winner (of a maiden hurdle) at Cork recently, this one needs taking seriously in a modest event. Market should prove helpful in gauging chances.

Showing a consistent, if unspectacular, level of form recently and little wrong with his midfield finish to Bobabout in a competitive handicap finish at Punchestown last time out. May not have the scope for improvement of a few but should run his race again.

Low grade on the Flat and didn't pull up any trees on recent comeback run after 11 months off the track. Too much to prove on hurdles debut here.

Dropped to the rear pretty quickly on debut and stayed there, finishing well tailed off. Makes next to no appeal here.

Only had the one run (for David Kelly) on the Flat and it revealed little. Pedigree hardly screams one that's bred for jumping either but has joined a powerful yard since. Hard to know what to expect on hurdles debut bt clearly has to be respected.

Has some classy relatives on the Flat but hasn't shown much in two starts over hurdles to date, and needs this for a handicap mark. With a top class yard and may do better, but can only be watched at present.

Showed next to nothing on debut at Limerick in April, and no realistic chance of troubling the principals on that run here.

Did much better on latest start here at Kilbeggan, finishing third to the improving Creative Talent and effort can be marked up a bit as she pulled hard early too. Needs another step forward here but is at least going the right way.

Last and well tailed off on only start at Limerick in April, and can't be seriously considered until showing something better than that.

Verdict

As much as Leomar turned in another good effort at Tipperary on his latest outing, he's starting to become a bit expensive to follow, and PAPAL MOTEL has his measure on previous form anyway. He's taken to confirm that form today, with a bit more improvement possible. Newcomers Nessun Dorma and Schmidt both require a glance in the market. Weightfordave tends to run his race more often than not and may pick up some place money too.
