Successful in three point-to-points during 2016 and also winner of a hunter chase over 2m5f at Tramore (good) a month ago. Subsequently pulled up in a high class hunter chase at Punchestown and likely to play a leading role dropped in grade here.
Maiden point-to-pointer with best runs coming in hunter chase company. Beaten 21L on heavy ground over an extended 2m4f at Clonmel in February but well beaten in a maiden point-to-point last time out and likely to find a few too good here.

Winner of a maiden point-to-point at Tinahely (good) in October 2016 and placed in a winners race next time out. Well beaten over fences at Wexford later that month and no show on his return to point-to-points earlier this year.
Off the mark at the eighth attempt in a point-to-point at Durrow (soft) in March. Beaten 24L in a Cork hunter chase on good ground last month and beaten 17L in a winners point-to-point subsequently.
Pulled up on point-to-point debut in February 2014 and returning from over three years off when successful at Quakerstown (good-to-yielding) last month. Has a top jockey booked to ride here and likely to run well on his hunter chase debut.
Successful by 12L in a maiden point-to-point at Kildorrery (soft) in February. Well beaten twice since including when pulled up last time out and wears blinkers for the first time in this.

Wore blinkers when pulled up in a maiden hunter chase at Limerick (heavy) in December. Easy winner of a six runner point-to-point on good-to-firm subsequently but well beaten in recent starts and more need in this.

Had just three starts so far and beaten 15L into third in a mares maiden at Durrow (soft) in March. More needed if she's to take this contest.
Placed five times from 11 point-to-point outings but well beaten in a mares hunter chase at Cork (good) last month and probably best watched today.

Forecasts

Dimple (11/10), Royal Tara (2/1), West Cork Golan (10/1), Patsy Oriel (14/1), Esthers Present (14/1), Dingle Gin (20/1), Golander (20/1), Ar Fheabhas Ar Fad (20/1), Honest To Goodness (50/1)

Verdict

DIMPLE carries a penalty following his success over 2m5f at Tramore last month and he can register a second chase success by taking this novice hunter chase. The selection failed to cope with the step up in grade at Punchestown last time out but this looks more realistic and he can see off impressive Quakerstown winner Royal Tara and the maiden Esthers Present who has run well in hunter chases in the recent past.
  1. Dimple
  2. Royal Tara
  3. Esthers Present
