Tactically versatile having come from off the pace last time to beat a smart bunch and having blasted from the gates for his two previous victories. Faces Zamjar on 7lb worse terms having beaten him ½L in December and that rival has been more lucky with the draw.

Ran 14 times as a juvenile, winning four races including one here. Has been having problems at the start in recent races and looks a shade too high in the weights.

Has the tactical early speed to overcome a middle draw on a track where trainer and jockey do well. Looks held on form by Evergate on running last time and Zamjar, on a line through Juan Horsepower.

Winner of a week Navan maiden for Dermot Weld last season and the form has not worked out. Changed hands for 17,000 gns in February and has first run for trainer who is just beginning to hit form. Owner likes to have a tilt at the ring here so one to observe in the market.

Bought for 27,000 gns having won a couple of races for Richard Hannon as a juvenile. The form does not amount to a great deal and his handicap mark looks too high judged on what he has achieved.

Windsor Castle fourth last season and has been gelded since finishing in mid-division in a hot race last time. Looks held by Evergate on that form but better drawn than that rival and has gone well on this course previously.

Looks held by Sayesse on last season's form and his best efforts have come on a much softer surface than he will encounter here.

Was in good form in December when chasing home Munro and then beating Juan Horsepower. Those lines of form suggest he is well treated and a plum draw adds to the attraction.

Made all to land a nursery here in July and that form has been boosted since. Faced some difficult tests thereafter and looks in need of further assistance from the handicapper.

Picked up from John Gosden's yard for 16,000 gns having landed a minor race at Wolverhampton. The runner-up has won two races since and he starts this season on a workable mark for his shrewd handler. Legitimate excuses for two defeats since (trouble in running and soft ground). One to keep tabs on for the future given he appears the owner's and trainer's second string in this.

Forecasts

Zamjar (11/4), Esprit De Corps (4/1), Sayesse (5/1), Full Intention (5/1), Poet's Society (11/2), Kreb's Cycle (8/1), Awesome Allan (10/1), Evergate (10/1), Munro (11/1), Brogan (12/1), The Amber Fort (16/1), Leontes (20/1), Turanga Leela (25/1), Vona (25/1), Impart (33/1)

Verdict

Munro and Evergate arrive in good form but with tough draws to overcome. Zamjar has a perfect pitch and several form lines suggest he may be thrown in here. Nevertheless, Ed Dunlop's yard have been finding winners harder to come by recently and Zamjar rarely runs two races a like. Poet's Society represents a trainer and jockey combination that know exactly what it takes to win around here and he could take some pegging back if allowed to make the running. Preference though is for FULL INTENTION who is well handicapped on last summer's juvenile form which included finishing fourth at Royal Ascot. The local runner was forced to race wide last time and is closely matched with Evergate on that showing. He has proven experience on the track having been placed here twice and another big run is anticipated.
