Likes this ground, has form at the track and over this trip, so has plenty of plus points going for him there, but has no great record fresh and may need this after a nine month absence. Not totally discounted, but others are preferred.
Quick conditions are ideal (has won on good to firm) and likes tight tracks too, but normally takes a run or two to find stride each season and so may need this run after seven months away.
Has shown a degree of ability in five starts so far, and did okay on handicap debut when a staying-on fifth at Towcester on handicap debut in March (soft ground). Faces totally different conditions here, which asks new questions, but may be going the right way.
Two efforts in novice and maiden hurdles at Newton Abbot have seen him in the frame twice, so handles the track, and was probably unlucky to bump into a well handicapped and rejuvenated Zulu Oscar on his latest start. Up 2lb for that but still looks a player.
Takes in his first handicap today, and looks nicely in off this mark on his Flat form (went close off 73 last year). Concerns about the ground (wouldn't want it too quick) but has won fresh before and no surprise if he left his previous moderate hurdles form behind.
Stays well on the Flat, and turned in a solid effort in a low-grade handicap at Kempton (beaten 2l) in April, but no win since 2014 and although well handicapped on Flat form, may need a bit further before he's to score. Still needs a market check.
Veteran has found some form again recently and as a winner of three of his last four, he's hard to knock on that score. However, three efforts on this track have seen him perform poorly, which is the worry today, and others are preferred.
Can't knock her on the way her form figures look, and improved again when taking a handicap here in April. Drop back in trip not necessarily a positive though, and handicapper has had his say now. Not discounted but new questions to answer today.
Almost caused a 20/1 upset at Fakenham in April but couldn't get past the idling winner on the run-in. Ran to a similar level last time and as a dual C&D winner on good ground, is entitled to plenty of respect today.
Best effort to date has come over a longer trip than today's at Sedgefield when second to an easy winner, but hasn't shown much in two handicap starts since. Plenty to prove now, although better ground here may help.
With a top yard but hasn't shown much to date, the cheekpieces last time having little effect (still finished off weakly) and plenty relies on the first time tongue-tie having a big effect today. Too much to prove at present and best watched.
Has clearly had some issues and this will be only his sixth start in just over two years. Another absence since last May when last of three (no chance at weights) but with a powerful yard and market best guide as to chances.
Won back-to back handicaps here at Newton Abbot and Worcester last summer, but all went a bit downhill after that, and finished last on final start of last season Break may have done her good but may require more of a stamina test all the same.
Best run over hurdles to date came at Bangor in March when second in a similar handicap to today's, but that was on soft ground and he couldn't build on it next time. Blinkers go on today in an effort to turn form around, but still risky.
Lowly rated on the Flat and hasn't show enough over hurdles to think he's going to make much of an impression today.
Hadn't shown a lot until latest start at Taunton when a staying-on fourth to Frozen Over, the better ground and first time tongue tie seemingly helping his cause. Chances here if building on that, and not discounted in an open contest.

There's plenty of these that can be given chances on bits and pieces of their best form, but a chance is taken that JACK BEAR can leave his form behind now he tackles handicaps. He looks nicely handicapped if he can and if ridden with a touch more restraint, which should help him get home, can get involved. Muffins For Tea and Serveontime both showed a bit more last time and if building on those efforts, hold chances. Black Anthem, Treasure The Ridge and Kristjano are others that need a look in the market.
