Dandy Man colt, cost £44,000 as a yearling. Fair second on debut in a bid to make all and only narrowly touched off. Trainer does well with his runners around here and jockey rides this course well but draw may be tricky to overcome. Trainer has won this twice in the last ten years.

Good third on debut on Lincoln day but disappointed when a short-priced favourite at Lingfield two starts back. Bounced back with a win at Ripon when making all gamely last time and his experience should hold him in good stead in this contest.

Kodiac colt, cost €50,000 as a yearling. Yard do very well with their juveniles and it looked like it was a hot maiden he contested on debut. Entitled to progress from that and trainer and jockey won this last year.

Debut winner at Doncaster in division two of the Brocklesby on Lincoln day but he was a beaten short-priced favourite last time out. Form of that race up for debate and he looked like he may want a step up in trip to be seen to best effect.

Camacho colt who is related to plenty of winners and blessed with plenty of speed in his pedigree. Draw far from ideal, particularly for a debutante, but can't be ruled out if ready for his debut.
Zebedee colt, cost 5,000 gns as a yearling. Full-brother to winning two-year-old Rainbow Orse but probably best watched on debut here.

Speedy pedigree and made a promising debut at Beverley when second of 12. Confirmed that promise by winning easily on her subsequent start and leading claims here but her draw does temper enthusiasm somewhat. Trainer won this in 2014 and 2015.

Green on debut at Wolverhampton and didn't really improve last time at Brighton. One to do better in handicaps and yard have been a little quiet in recent weeks.

Showed nothing on debut at Bath but only narrowly defeated on her second start at Wolverhampton when a 33/1 shot. Form of that race probably a little below what is required in this contest and yard not known for their juvenile winners so probably best watched.

Very green on debut but made good use of the rail on second start at Windsor when making all and running on well. Third and fourth have run well since and no obvious reason why she won't go well again from a good draw.

Forecasts

Requinto Dawn (2/1), Yogi's Girl (4/1), Emilia James (5/1), Big Time Maybe (5/1), Central City (11/2), Black Orange (12/1), Floss The Hoss (20/1), Felisa (33/1), Sir Walter (50/1), The Golden Cue (66/1), Storm Doris (66/1)

Verdict

David Evans has three runners in the race and it's Yogi's Girl who makes most appeal of his trio. She went well last time, improving markedly for her debut and their should be more to come. Mark Johnston has a good record in this contest and his runner, Emilia James, has plenty of speed in her pedigree; she ran out a convincing winner at Beverley last time. However, it's last year's winning connections who may be able to land back-to-back renewals of this contest with CENTRAL CITY. The colt made a promising debut and the trainer's runners often come on markedly for their first outing so he could be hard to beat with the form of his maiden likely to be stronger than what most can bring to the table here.
  1. Central City
  2. Emilia James
  3. Yogi's Girl
