Successful on heavy ground over 2m4f in a handicap hurdle off a mark of 115 here in March. Well beaten on good ground here last time out and makes his chase debut today.

Cole Hardenp,t31
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-0| J: G Sheehan| T: W Greatrex| OR:  152
4/7
Victorious in Cheltenham's World Hurdle back in 2015 though yet to hit those heights since. Finished fourth in the 2017 renewal of that contest but pulled up in a first time visor (cheekpieces and tongue tie return here). Disappointed on chase debut when second at Wetherby in December but has a fair bit in hand on hurdles ratings in this.

Successful twice over 2m4f at Sedgfield last season including on good ground when odds-on favourite in September. Finished runner-up at Perth over an extended 2m4f on good-to-firm ground over hurdles last time out and has a bit to find on ratings with Cole Harden today.

Sir Ivant44
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-0| J: N D Fehily| T: H Fry| OR:  135
2/1
Finished third off a mark of 135 in a novice handicap chase over 2m7f at Taunton (good) in early March. Still held chances when coming down at the 15th over 3m1f at Hereford (good-to-soft) last time out and likely to run well as he seeks a first chase success for a yard with a 36% strike-rate of late (4/11).

Forecasts

Cole Harden (4/7), Sir Ivan (2/1), Our Reward (14/1), Alf 'n' Dor (20/1)

Verdict

SIR IVAN had appeared to be steadily getting the hang of chasing prior to falling at Hereford last time out. Harry Fry's yard are in good from at present (4/9) and he can get the better of 2015 World Hurdle winner Cole Harden who didn't convince with his jumping when finishing runner-up in a three finisher contest on chasing debut and was quickly switched back to hurdles. The other two contestants have a bit to find on figures and it's Our Reward who can see of Alf 'n' Dor in the battle for third place.
  1. Sir Ivan
  2. Cole Harden
  3. Our Reward
